If Cats Could Talk

If you could ask your cat one question and have it understand and answer in a way you could also understand, what would it be? I think I would ask my cats why they scratch at the side of the litter box where there is nothing but plastic. But, maybe I would ask them why they like to sit on me while I'm sleeping.

My cat would say "lasagna" or ask me to change the litter box with a lot of cussing involved.

My cat does understand me. I have communicated consistently and honestly from the beginning with him and it is amazing. He know that I will be back and wait a minute and catnip that I call Ozzie nip. Anyway, it is us that need to understand them. Takes some doing however it can be done if you realize that they think and feel. I would ask Ozzie why he does not sleep with me more often. He know I want him. That I have not figured out for sure. Your cat is watching over you. He is watching you sleep and probably knows when you are dreaming. They are amazing animals.

They are, indeed, amazing. I would probably like to know why they don't sleep with me as much as I would like too. :D

You mean they don't? One of our cats always tells me he's hungry, or his litter needs to be changed (he's pretty vocal about that one!) He also says thank you when I let him in or out the door. OK, not really TALK, but he does tell me these things, really! :) I think I would ask my cats why they sleep where they do. We have two cats... a younger male, and a old female cat. They both sleep on my hubby's and mine feet at night. Now, it wouldn't bother me so much, but when we kick them off, they don't get the hint. They just jump back on the bed, and sleep on our feet--especially the male. I like to know why they do that. Why not sleep with the kids, whose feet don't even reach the foot of their beds yet, and they wouldn't get kicked. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

LOL I also have a cat that lets me know when he's not happy. Especially if the food bowl is empty. He occasionally tells me when the litter box needs emptying. He also lets us know when he wants some attention. Every morning that we are home we have to go and lay on the bed so he can get on top of us and get some loving. He always wants his head scratched and some general petting. He goes back and forth between us.

That would sort of depend on which cat I was asking the question of. If it's Scamp, I'd ask him why he's licking all his fur off. Ping or Pong, why they want to be in MY face - dont't they know they are the roomie's cats?Sassy I'd ask what she'd like to be happier since she's 16. I think I know the answer to that one tho, "Get rid of all those extra CATS, D*mnit!"I'd ask Kit why he's so desperate for pets that he claws us to get them, not real encouraging for pets if you ask me. And then there are several that I'd ask WHY ME???Of course, I probably know the answer to that too. Cats are facinated by people that HATE cats & people that are allergic to them. Obviously I don't hate them, so... guess what I am? I'd be suffering big time if I hadn't had shots from my allergist years ago.

That's funny...I think all of us can relate to that one...my one cat digs in the litter pan I'm surprised he hasn't worn out a hole in the pan. If I could ask one question of my two kitties it would be a simple question....Do you love me? :)
