What's the strangest thing you've ever found inside your computer?

When my daughter was two years old, she got hold of a small stack of debit and credit cards and pushed them into the 3.5 disk slot of our old computer. Needless to say, I had to open up the side of the computer panel just to get them back. And, while inside I was confronted with a huge two inch black spider! Very scary, considering that it popped up out of nowhere. I guess the giant spider web over everything should have been my first clue. I am very lucky that it did not bite me. Needless to say, that is the last time I went poking around inside a computer. So, how about you? Have you ever opened up your own computer for service work or other reason and found something inside? What was it?

I've never found anything like that in my computer. But if I ever found a huge black spider like that inside my computer, I think I would throw the whole computer out. I am deathly afraid of spiders.

Me too! Did you read my other post where I said I got poisoned by a spider? True story. I was in such incredible pain! Would not wish spider bite on anyone.

My husbands company does a few different things and one is computer repair. A few weeks ago someone brought their PC in and they found snake eggs in it! No wonder they had a problem. Your story about the debit cards reminds me of something my son did. When I was married to my ex-husband, one day some of the contents of his wallet disappeared (drivers license, debit card, etc). Six months or so pass by and we are moving out of our townhouse. The girl came by for the insepction and she checked everything including the a/c vent which was near the floor mainly because it was missing a screw. When she pulled it back, she found all of the contents of his wallet that my son had stuffed into the vent.

Wow! Snake eggs! I have never heard anything like that before. And, as for the missing wallet, that sounds like something that would happen in my house. My daughter is always trying to use open slots like her own personal "ATM" machine.

Dear beautyqueen26, I had bad and bitter experience with my printer. With my family I went on a holiday. We returned after 21 days. I had to print something. I put on, the computer and gave print command. The printer started printing and after a few minutes, it stopped abruptly. I disconnected the printer from power and started searching cause for the printer stopped printing. To my astonishment, I found three rat's babies moving inside the printer. I think the rat's babies might be 3 or 4 days old. They destroyed my logiq board of the printer by urinating. I could not change the logiq board resulting even today the printer lying idle in my house. In Dollar value it is about $300 I lost due to rat babies.

Well considering we work on computers everyday I've never really found anything strange inside a computer besides lots of dust and cobwebs. I will say the nastiest computers we have worked on have come from people who smoke around their computers. You wouldn't believe the amount of nasty dust and tar that can build up inside a computer. And people don't realize that without regular cleaning that can really mess up a computer. My moms motherboard on her laptop actually went out because of all the dust she let accumlate.

Can't you fit an extra or better fan in it? It isn't good for your computer to be open all the time as it can get very damaged and dust gets into bits that it shouldn't and may stop your computer from working completely! xxx

Well sweety I used to work for a large computer manufacturer and built desktop systems! I also worked in debug fixing the systems that had failed either initiall or sat testing in the ovens after being newly built! Some things that I have seen inside those computers are unbelievable! I have seen wipes, tools, id cards, sweets and loads of other stuff! I was even sick in one of them just after spending an hour and a half fixing it when I was pregnant with my eldest! I was told to put the parts through the chemical wash and rebuild it - I pity whoever got that system - it must stink when it has been on for a while and gets warm! I never open our system - my other half does it these days! lol xxx

Do you believe me how is this possible while it si showingme the file in the MyDocuments folder but not really allowing me to open? Can it be a virus attack to my file or PC?

I am lucky that I haven't had anything in the computer but maybe because by the time we had one the kids were old enough to understand not to do it. But I did find a peanut butter sandwich in the VCR when Clayton was a toddler. Unfortunately we didn't use it much anymore and it took a while for the discovery. Yuck! Sometimes I found things like Fruitloops and think jeepers we haven't had that in the house in months. Vicki

A few years ago i remember losing around £150 at christmas time in a drunken mess. To my much delight, about 2 years later, i opened my computer to clean it out and add another hard-drive, as soon as i took off the side panel, there it was, £150 scattered on different peripherals inside the PC. I was astonished when finding this money and quickly related it to the £150 i lost at christmas a couple years back and i could not figure out how i got it in there!
