I have never heard of using corn seed..That is a good idea, especially if it smells better..you can make it with any kind of material you want, which is really cool.

Yes, it would feel good on your knee. You can use a sock filled with rice or wheat, I am sure it would be sorta like the bag...good luck and I hope your knee gets to feeling better.

I do have a rice bag and they are the best! They work great for cramps. My mom used to oversee some volunteers at a hospital we used to work at that would make these for the maternaty ward, they would make hundreds at a time. They used tube socks and rice, works the same as the others. I've got a real one though, I think we got it after my mom had surgery? Yeah we did because the cat was spayed around that time and we used it for her too. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen it since we moved last. :(

lol, that is too funny! I know, goodness I was wondering what had happened to you. I thought to myself, good Lord she done swooned, hit her head and is in the hospital in one of those unflattering open booty paper gowns. I'm sooooo glad it was just a myLot malfunction instead!

Hi Terry, a rice bag is material made into a bag and filled with rice. You put it in the microwave and heat it like 1 to 2 minutes and then put it on your body wherever it hurts...It stays warm for about 30 minutes and it really soothes the muscles..I described how to make one in one of the responses toward the beginning of this discussion if you would like to take a look.. You can use a sock also for a quick one...use uncooked rice tho and don't fill it full and make a knot in the end and you have an instant rice bag...

I think rice bag works. The heat from this bag will improve blood circulation in the place where you put it. When the blood flow is great we can expect there will be no sore. In my place people use wheat instead of rice for this bag. I saw people sold wheat bag in weekend market, wish to buy it but quite expensive. I can ask my wife make one for me soon. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Okay, confession time. This is the first I have heard of it. Tell me more. It sounds like something I would use. How did your daughter make yours, can you describe it? Thanks.

You take material, cloth, 24" x 6" and sew it inside out on 2 sides, leaving one shorter end open. The third side would be the fold, then turn it right side out and fill with uncooked rice..about 2/3 full.. Sew it shut. That is it. Finished size will be 12" x 6"... You can make a cover for it if you want to. Put in microwave about 1.5 minutes. It can get pretty hot so be careful..Adjust the time accordingly..I hope this helps..If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask..thank you.

Hey. I dont use these myself, but on visiting my dads house, he asked me too put this wheat bag in the microwave, and I was puzzled as to why he would ask me to put this material bag in something that cooks food, his microwave, so anyway I did, when it was ready he placed it on his knee and I could see the expressions in his face, letting me know this bag was working wonders for his knee... So I thought, I will get one or two just have on standby...
