why does most gays like cher so much?

Being a straight woman I am only guessing but I think it is because she is sassy, strong and has great style.

I'm not gay but I do love Cher's music. I know a gay man and he is wild about Cher. I'm not sure why. I love her music and I think she's an incredible woman. AT PEACE WITHIN

I think it's simply because Cher is a strong beautiful woman. Who through her years of limelight has had incredibly flambouant customes. But most importantly she never appeared to be ashamed of being a loud and proud and woman. And she never off'ed herself as a poppy fake. That itself should be inspiring to everyone.

There are many reasons that Cher has become a gay Icon. First is that she has consistently reinvented her music style to meet the changing times without compromising who she is. Second is that she is a beautiful woman and person, and of course her wardrobe is absolutely fabulous!! And of course, she is one heck of a singer! I have loved Cher just about my whole life-way back to Sonny and Cher. I loved her and her music even before I knew that I was gay. It's her style, her no nonsense attitude, her approach to enjoying life to the fullest with no apologies. I could probably go on all night, but I know you get my drift. There are a few Icons that will always stand the test of time: Cher, Bette, Cindy Lauper, Streisand, and Blondie. I know there are others, but these are the ones that I think mean the most to the gay community at large. I don't mean to speak for all in our community as they are as diverse as there are stars in the heavens.
