Saturday I took my daughter & both grandsons to tyhe Local Anoka County Fair. While there I decided since I have a caricature of my daughter and also of my son I'd get one done of the grandsons. Now a caricature is an artists rendering/drawing in a cartoon style. Caricature means to exxagerate greatly as this depicts and all do this. Here's a picture of that. I need to go buy a new frame for it today or really soon. I love it as it captures both their personalities perfectly. Hunter is always gun hoe, therefore the thumbs up in the caricature. Tyler is more lazy/laid back hence the folded arms. So what do you think of it? Have any of you had this done of a family member or maybe even yourself? I have yet to get one of me & my wife but really want to someday. We've done the old western photo shoot at the State Fair though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I've never had a caricature of myself done. though I've seen friends having some framed up in their homes. usually there are a lot of street artists doing this, that I've seen in my travels but they are usually quite pricey - at least $20 USD each right? I think I'd love having one done, but hopefully my better features are emphasized!

You're right, they can be quite costly. This was done for a cost of $35 in color for 2 people. I'm not sure but it usually is $20 for one person done in black & white I think. I don't mind spending the cash for this keepsake. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It's really quite a clever caricature. I have never had one done of myself or family members. I'm not sure that I want one of me. I don't trust how it would turn out!

Thats really cute. I have never seen a picture like that or even knew anyone who had it done. We are lucky if they do face paintings at our county fair.lol. But if I go to the state fair this year, I will look to see if they do that.

That's a really cute caricature of your grandsons, Grandpa Bob. I had one done a long time ago while working in Chicago by one of my passengers during a carriage ride. He did that as a side job and was really good at his work. I have no clue what had happened to it but I loved it as well.

hOW sweet! thanks for sharing the "photo." The artist did a really great job capturing their personalities. I can see that little twinkle that little boys sometimes get in their eyes. That twinkle that lets you know that they are thinking of something that will lead to fun. :) Give 'em a hug for me, cuz they are just too cute!

Grandpa Bob, I love the picture. I do believe you need the just the right frame for the caricature of the boys. I think the artist did a great job. I have never got one done of me of any one of my family. I like yours I think I will have to do one of for me. LOL I am so shy to put my photo on the internet. I am thinking I might just put my picture on the internet soon. When I do I will post it on mylot first.

I am always fond of putting myself on a caricature, but I am still looking for a good theme for my own portrait!;) I have a couple of ideas on my head, but I just can't make up what to put out. A guitar-slingin' rocker maybe good, but I am still looking for a good pattern to adopt. It's really nice of you grandpa, to put cute photos of your grandchildren on a caricature!;)

I have never done this- I hate my nose- and I’m sure they would make it look even worse- you know they make features bigger! But I think they are super cool- My daughter always wants to get one done – Maybe next time we go to a fair or the amusement park- I see it this way- I already spend enough money on the activities and the food- I don’t want to add this expense also- Maybe I will give in!

This is so well done, Grandpa Bob. It's really a lot of fun to have these type of keepsakes. My sister has them of both my niece and nephew. It's something worth looking into sometime.

Caricatures are very meaningful if made by an intelligent artist. They find out the special features or usual expressions of the person and give an emphasis to that in the image. Therefore caricarures will be expressive. This caricature of your grandchildren are very lively with the charecteristic smile in their faces. I think it is worth the money you paid. Thank you very much.
