Do you take it for granted that men swim better than women?

in my eyes,men swim better than women.my farther has wonderful swimming skill,while my mother don't.in the old generation,it seems that most men can swim very well
,but they consider it normal.however,if a woman can swim very well,it's unique.
so what's your opinion?

I don't believe in such generalizations. I know a few men who have a hard time in the water, and i know of a woman or two, (my fiance's ex-wife is one!!) who are fantastic swimmers and who should probably be in the olympics!!

I think so. Because usually men are bold and therefore they can learn swimming faster than women. Since they have a good strength and body, then can swim for a long time and faster. So I think men swim better than women.
