write "duh!" after you respond to a really dumb question? I know I have almost physically hold myself back as well as not giving a really sarcastic response.

Why would you hold yourself back? Dumb questions are part of the agenda for entertainment on mylaugh. There are three kinds of questions, irrational, nonsensical and dumb and they all make for great comments. Im sure this comment is going to highly irritate all the people who don a serious hat on a regular basis. but it has always been my belief that serious hats are filled with empty heads. But I could be wrong.

I have read on many occasions that that real humor requires a heightened level of intelligence that allows a person to see sides of an issue that aren't obvious to the terminally serious person. I believe that is why so many people get so lathered up when one makes light of there not quite sensible remarks. I have always thought it was more polite to make a humorous comment rather than just say " That was was ubdoubtably the stupidest thing I have heard this month, were you dropped on your head as a child" I will bow to your superior wisdom and stand corrected. But I would like to point one thing out. It is the terminaly serious that pack car trunks with C-4.

Oh yes, and I tend to do it alot. I am just such a blunt, straight up person, and I never hold back my peace of mind. I am not ashamed. Although it might may upset others, I am just myself, if anyone doesn't like it, oh well. If they write a stupid question, I will definetelly say , DUH! I do not mean to start fights or arguements though, but I just cannot help myself:D I too leave very sarcastic responses at times, I am just an outspoken person. So if anyone don't like it, too bad, that's how I feel. I know I may get a negative rating for this response, but this is just ME, and I am not ashamed to be just ME! Have a nice day, good post.

I think "duh" is a great word (???) it says quite clearly what I am thinking. Your grandaughter is pretty smart.

All the time! But, rather than even bother, I pass it by. Oh but it is so hard not to leave something in response. My fingers ache to touch the keyboard and leave just one or two words, short and sweet and effective enough to get my point across that the question was dumb.

No, its not a word that I use at all, there are other words which I may use depending on the circumstances, but which I am too dignified to use here. (Perhaps we should have a competition for the best response to a dumb question?) I think most people on MyLot will have a favourite expression for this.

Of course you can use that, might stimulate everyone's little grey cells.

Ooo, Eskimo, if you don't use that idea, may I, please? That would be an awesome discussion!

I don't think I've done that here yet, as I usually avoid those discussions for something more interesting (like this one). I have, however, responded to a mature-content with starting with "buh" & probably ended up looking like my avatar. Being that more & more discussions that get started that are utter nonsense seem to be popping up like that annoying weed that you keep digging up & getting rid of, & many of the more intelligent discussions have stopped because of the frivilous deletions of the guideline-compliant & intelligent ones, it is tempting to just start in doing that. Duh, what else was I actually going to say?

Duh, isn't it tempting to go into many of those insanely idiotic discussions that some people start & just reply with, "Duh!" in them? I'm so tempted to do that at times. Maybe give 'em the old triple, "Duh duh duh!"

I know that sometimes I get a little edge to my "voice" as I post. Some people never even notice it, though. If I really cannot hold myself back, then I do not respond at all, for fear of being mean and naughty. I do not really want to hurt feelings, but you do wonder which rock they left their brains under.

Oh you just don't know HOW tempting some are to have me write that and then a bit more. I just have to ask myself, what in the hell is wrong with people sometimes?

Sometimes I have had that exact thought after seeing some of the questions posted on here. But I just move on to the next and keep my thoughts to myself, because it may be truly something they don't know, and I'm not gonna be the one to make them feel bad about it.

Well, golly, heather, I just can't IMAGINE you being sarcastic, I'm surprised to hear you say that! LOL! The most common phrase I have to keep myself from writing is, read whole post before responding, please! I guess "duh!" would be a more succinct way to say that.

Now thats the truth, but I never do that because people from different countries have different customs so the question may not be dumb for them. I remember to be nice.

yep I know what you maen. my wife gives me a hard time about some of my responses. And I do not hold back alot of time. But some time I find myself being mean, and saying something rude or so forth. I think it is human nature to do so sometimes so like I tell my wife y fight it.

I am the most sarcastic person I know...in here, I try so hard to keep from saying things that won't make people take offense but its so hard...I find myself passing up a lot of discussions just to keep from saying something crazy...

If the question is that dumb I dont respond but then again for the person that did the post might have a different veiw of it and it isnt dumb at all as we have so many cultures on here questions we think are dumb to us might not be dumb to them . As they might be trying to learn different meanings of the question

Absolutely whiteheather and on both counts as well. My thoughts are...if only people would read what they have written before they hit the submit button they would know how stupid their post sounds. Or they would know that it doesn't make sense, or that no-one can give a decent response. Which do you prefer pink or blue? Do you dream?

lol, no not really. i'm usually just sarcastic with my friends but here on mylot, anything can be written! so if someone asks a dumb question...... i just answer it! who knows, they probably just posted it because they couldn't think of anything better to post!
