Got Soaked at the Parade

As exhausted as I was today getting up so early I still ended up taking my men (jess being at camp) to the L'Ardoise Festival Parade today. That is the town where Howard is from about a half hour drive away. They were forecasting thunderstorms but it was sunny here and the guys were antsy and really wanted their gal to come along. I passed on all parades last year do to serious grieving. So I went up to my first parade of the year. The boys played games for prizes. Cole got a Lion stuffy that growls when you hit it and Clayton got a huge water gun set. Howard won me a box of chocolates which I was so excited about. I only get then once a year from Santa. LOL When they just finished playing their last game we heard a huge thunder roar. Then it was just a downpour. I ran to the car and said we should leave cause they wouldn't have a parade in this. Just as I was about to pull away the police car was there leading the way for the parade. We all went out of the car to see and collect the treats they throw to the kids. They both got a shopping bag filled with candies. And we were all completely soaked right down to our skivvies. We all began splashing each other and playing around. It actually felt wonderful to feel the rain come down on us. We have had temperatures in the high 30Cs for almost a week and have been dying of heat. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed just being out in the rain and loving it. Maybe when I was 8 like Clayton. Can you remember the last time you were just out in the rain for fun?
