i think its a great decision from these great players.... first take the case of dravid, we all know he cant play big shots , may be he is good enough to score run a ball but defnitely not good when it comes to scoring 2 runs a ball which is pretty much the standards at 20-20 cricket. Ganguly can play big shots, but again he is not in his fluent best any more. And regarding sachin, i dont think his body is suited any more to this high energy form of cricket, he is even struggling to make it to the team for ODI's and Test matches due to his injury problems. 20-20 cricket is the crickets answer to football and other games which get over with in 2-3 hours, just to show that cricket can be as enjoyable as any other sports, and to bring more crowds to watch cricket matches, thus it overcomes a big disadvantage of cricket as compared to other sports ie. the time factor. And for cricket to be attractive its important to pack it with lot of energy which only young cricketers can provide, so i dont thing there is much to worry about the decision of some of the senior indian players to opt out of 20-20 cricket world cup.

i think it would be beneficial both for india and for the players themselves. first of all the fielding standards must be very high for a 20-20 match because every single run is very precious and we know that our senior players are good fielders but they are not very quick. secondly, it'll benefit the players also because their body may not be able to cope with the pressure of this version of the game. we've seen many players retiring from one day cricket so that they can play in test cricket for longer. similarly this will also allow the players to play in other versions for a longer period.
