Does your spouse clean better than you?

I know better than to ask my husband to clean anything around the house, cause he would do a much better job than me. While he rarely cleans around the house, when he actually does do the job, he's much better at it than me. Even when he worked sixty plus hours weekly, he would still come in early mornings and clean the kitchen to spotless condition at least once or twice a week. Funny thing is, when he cleans, the house stays clean! When I clean it looks messy in less than two hours. At this point, I'm ready to break down and ask his cleaning secrets. But, then I'd have to admit that he does the job better than me. And, that is never going to happen! Am I the only woman on the planet with this problem? Does your spouse clean better than you?

You are not alone, my girlfriends husband is the same way and damned if she will admit it to him. I have the opposite problem, I hate to clean and so does he. He tries to help me out sometimes but then I have to sneak around and reclean where he cleaned to make it actually clean without offending him then he would never help! He can vacuum though so I guess that is a start...

He offers to help me a lot around the house. But, I'm bull-headed and stubborn at times and refuse to let him. What in the world could I be thinking? LOL!

No my husband doesn't clean much at all. He is not very domesticated which is ok. I have come to the point that it is just not his thing LOL so no, I clean wayyy better than he does. However he is a better cook than me and leaves bigger messes for me to clean up LOL

My boyfriend cleans the house, but I'm not ready to admit that he can clean better than me. He's a clean freak, he likes the house clean, he does most of the tidying up because I do school and I'm home. Right now I'm not home and I know he's cleaning cleaning cleaning, plus his mom is over there for Christmas because she wanted to see what It was like over there where we moved. But I don't really wana see the witch.

I am a lousy cleaner. My husband always says I am not domestic at all and I remind him that he knew this when he married me. He is ex-military and you know they had to maintain higher standards with their uniforms and living quarters. Well, my mom never told me that was one of the top skills you needed to have. Growing up, I never cleaned the house. Not one dish,no vacumning, dusting, nothing. So now, I'm at a loss for cleaning my house. He comes home from work and finds things to clean.

cleaning - Things for cleaning with
Nope you are not alone. Think because I do it all day long all the time, the mess becomes less sightly to me. Does that make sense? I get use to somethings just being that way, where as hubby is having a fresh new look at it and can spot more that needs to be done than I. He is a heck of cleaner, when I can get him to do it, that is.

He's much better inside than me. He actually dusts! I thought dust was there to protect the furniture! Given a choice, I'll take the mower and weedeater any day.

Oh no, you're not the only one. Certain thing my husband does so much better than I do, and I think the the house seems to stay cleaner when he does it because if the kids even think about messing it up he glares and glares and they change their minds LOL One of the things my husband is so much better than me is at ironing. I don't know how he does it but his work is so much better than mine!!! OK, ok I confess I"m awful at it, but why would he be better? I had my mom teaching me and teaching me - not that I really learned but I had the education LOL - he never practiced before , but boy does it come out good :) He's also quite good with a broom, I always leave a little bit when I"m picking it up, but he.. Noooooo! How he does it I don't know :) Me, I"m better with anything that involves water. I guess because it's less boring for me. But all the rest he's the genius :)

My husband is not interested in housework. However, if we have to do the housework together, then he is the one who do the cleaning housework. Such as cleaning the bathroom, the floor etc. I have to say that he does it well.

My wife does not ask me to clean. She knows she does a much better job than I would do. I stick with the outdoor stuff, like mowing and weeding and washing cars.

He cleans better sorta in a way. When I clean it takes a while, when he does it the whole place is done an less then an hr. . The reason why is he puts stuff anywhere it will fit...not where it belongs. When I clean, I make sure everything is where it goes.

My husband is better at cleaning than I am. But neither of us likes to clean. I usually do most of the day to day things, but if I get sick or something and miss more than a couple of days, I get so overwhelmed by the mess that my son and husband make. I can't even figure out where to start, so my husband has to get the house clean again. That's the only way I can keep it clean. I always tell him I can only maintenance clean, but he has to do all the heavy cleaning. It works out, though. I keep it clean enough for the most part that we only need a real deep cleaning every few weeks. He can handle that without any problems. If he had to do it every weekend, I think it would be a different story.

Hello beautyqueen26, You are not alone. I am in the same planet with you! My husband too, cleans the house better than me. In fact, he always complain why it seems that I don't know how to clean the house perfectly. It really makes me irritated sometimes but I have no choice but to admit that he does better than me. It is not that I don't know how to clean the house or do the house work but the problem is, like you said; whenever I do it, it will be messy in just a split second. Whenever he cleans the house, it will remain clean!

haha - I WISH! I hate to clean but I refuse to live in a pig sty. If anything he is ONLY better at cleaning our ferret cage b/c he can take it apart and put it back together better than I can which makes it easier on him. Otherwise he never cleans - and when he does I find food still left on dishes etc in the cabinet (for example). Yes - I'd like him to at least help, but really. lol

lol I'm glad I'm not alone. :) Though he does tend to concentrate on things I normally don't even worry about. Simple fact is I'm sick of doing it so I don't try very hard any more.
