While eating your favorite food then suddenly it fell on the floor or table, do you pick it up right away and still eat it? Some people would normally do is after picking the food they would remove the dirt or dust then eat it. Well for me sometimes i still it eat when it fell on the table hehehe

LOL..They actually done a study here in Australia, about the the 5 second rule..If you drop something on the floor, if you pick it up within 5 seconds its ok to eat, after that the germs start to attach to it...

Mythbusters tested the 5 second rule and it is wrong. Read my response. People like to lie to themselves so they feel better. For your health don't eat it. Especially if you have pets.

Of course it all depends on the state of your floor, and the type of food, but this study was quite interesting...

I learned from my microbiology class that a food (uncovered/unwrapped) that fell on the floor would pick up bacteria that are on the floor. So, I didn't pick any edible items that had already touched the floor. But if the food's wrapped, I would pick it up =) on the premise that it would be picked right away.

Finally someone with some sense. Everyone else wants to lie to themselves so they think it is ok.

it would be safe to say that you could pick a food that had touched the floor...at your own risk =)

I also do the same in eating then dropped the food on the table, i would also pick itimmediately and eat, the floor is another story, I dont have to pick it up it might cause me an upset stomach after, if i try to pick up the food and eat it.

I will pick up the food right away because I don't want to make my wooden floor dirty. However, I won't it any more because the food is dirty. As to felling on the table, sometimes I will still eat it but it's not possible for me to eat it after it dropps down to the floor.

It really depends on what it is and where it fell. If it falls on carpet it's pretty much a loss. If it falls on hardwood or linoleum or something then I might eat it, as long as it's not something loaded with sauce or something like that.

It always depends on how much dirt is on the ground and if the piece of food is full of it or not. Normally I try to get the smut away but if it doesn't work I don't eat it anymore.

It depends for me, of the floor is swept and the food that fell is dry then I'd pick it and put it on my mouth to eat. But if the food feel on dirty floors and the food that feel was from a soup, stew or anything with sauce, then I'll leave it be and then later put it on the bin. Same goes for each, vice versa. There are times when we just can't simply get rid of the food that dropped/feel on floors, especially if it's one those that we long or crave for, a favorite food or just can't resist the good taste of it!;)

If my food fell on the floor I would not eat it. There are a lot of germs. If it made contact with the floor for 1 second it would be infested with bacteria. I don't recommend it. Throw it away and get another without germs.

Hi bluishrose! There are instances that I did. LOL! But most of the times I really don't especially when I know the floor has yet not been cleaned. :)
