I am using vista home premium(preloaded) in my laptop. Many programs don not work well with vista as it is the newest os. Ex. Oracle 9i does not work in vista. But there is another 10g or 10g for vista have been launched which is supported by vista. But I like xp the most.

So far from what I have read it is not very highly rated. So people really regret have changed from the previous version.

We have Vista running on one of our computers. We mainly just use it as a media center right now. So far it is running pretty smooth with no problems. But we still prefer to use XP for our workstations.

I am using vista from it's beta testing to till date. If you are not working in complex networking enviornment, you will not find much software compatibility issues. If you are using a single PC/Laptop you should shift to Vista as it has great userfriendly & reach fetures built into it.

Windows Vista indeed has a better interface compared to other OS. I like the look and feel of it. As it is still new, there are many third party programs and drivers which have yet to be fully adaptable to Vista. I am not a spokesperson from Microsoft, but I am sure so far Microsoft does provide hotfix for its product to run on the Vista platform.

I have just started using Vista in my new laptop and I like some of it's features very much, certain old programs might not work and you may have to get a newer version.
