I miss my mom and dad very much. Me and my brother are here working, away from them. We have a very close relationship with our parents. Although we chat to them everyday online and see on the webcam it's still not the same as seeing them and being with them. I can't hug them and kiss them personally. *sad face*. The last time i saw them was when i went home to have a vacation, April 29th '07. cheers! :D

I am so sorry you don't see yor parents often , I see mine every day but sadly they both have Alzheimers now , Dads is getting worse now but my Mum is a bit slower as she is on aracept now , they are still in their own home yet though and that is really good , The main thing is that you can chat to them pal and tell them you love them , some children live short distances from their parents and never go to see them xx

Your parents are very lucky to have a family like you. It is sweet that you go see them everyday, and that they're still living in their own house. Some children just forget about their parents especially if they're sick and just put them in a home for the aged. cheers! :D

I lost my mother many years ago. She had battled cancer for over 10 years before she finally gave in to the good Lord. My dad is a differwent story. I am his care giver and have been for almost 4 years. he lives with me so I see him every day. he beat me and verbally and emotionally abused me as a child forcing me to run away at 13. But I hold nothing against him as that was the way he was raised so he raised me the same way. I broke that cycle of abuse raising my children though. I love dad dearly and will hate to lose him. He is not in the best of shape and he is ready to go but the good Lord isn't ready to take him just yet it seems. Thanks for anotjher great discussion. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

hello fab315! the last time i saw my parents was last june 28, 2007. right before boarding the plane to sweden. i am in sweden now for a month and two days and i really miss my parents so much. i think it's a part of growing up that we should learn to be independent and choose the kind of life we want. through this, we become more responsible individuals and responsible partners to our partners as well. it's just sad that we need to separate from them. i miss them so much. take care! anne

Yeah it's sad that we have to be away from them to learn to live on our own, guess it's because we were so dependent on them. Glad you're in Sweden now *wink*. You take care too!! cheers! :D

I haven't seen my parents since last holiday,Chinese Spring Festival. It's nearly six months. The fact is my work place is far away from my family, about one-and-a-half day by train. I miss them very much especially when I'm depressed, lonely.

i see my mum and dad every week, which i find is quite often. i suppose parents always love to see their children more often so i'm not sure whether they think that's enough too! anyway thanks for the post, you just reminded me that I need to give them a call to arrange for dinner this week. was good to hear their voices and they sure sounded happy to hear mine!

How sad on your part. As for me, i am very fond of not seeing my mom and dad that very often before. I used to study in an Academy far from home when i was in highschool and i seldom went back home maybe 3 months after I could see my parents again and until when i went to college. But since,i am now with my family,i don't missed them that much as before. I think i could no longer live not seeing them for a long time.

I feel very sad for you. I know exactly how you feel. I too live 1000 miles away from where I was born and raised. Although I am 55 years old I still long to be with my parents very much. My father passed away 6 years ago. I have not seen my Mother in a year.I too talk to her every day, but as you know it is not the same as seeing her in person. She is 76 years old and not in very good health. I would love to be able to visit my Mother more often than I now can.She means the world to me..

I last saw my parents around 5 months ago when I went home for a vacation. But we made it a habit to call each other at least once a week. Although we're close, I didn't miss them that much because I was used to live on my own. Still, I want to go home at every opportunity I could see =)

Hi fab315! I saw my parents 4 hours ago. :) *hehe* Oww.. that's so sad. You're homesick, right? I'm sure you have a very solid, supportive and loving family. And I bet that you're very much close to them. Hmm...? Just always communicate to them. (",) And being away is also a means to know how to stand on your two feet and be independent. Take care always and God bless! (",)

Hello fab315! It's been a long time that I have seen my parents. The culture I originally belong to, have very strong family ties and structure. Our family is no different. The last time I saw my parents was on July 1, 2005 when I was coming for my doctoral studies here in France. That was the last time I hugged them, kissed them, shook hands with them and saw them smiling as well as crying, face to face. I left them on around 10:15 in the morning of my departure date. Like you I have seen them in pictures and a few times on cam and talked to them on phone after that but not live and you are right, it's not the same thing. I really wish that my studies get finished soon and I am able to return to see them again and to be close to them. They are such a precious beings.
