I need advice

I recieved an email from a Bahai in S Africa. She is asking for advice and it occurs to me that somne of you out there may have some answers. She has a wonderful spirit but her body is in trouble. The email is following. For those of you that are unfamaliar with Alláh-u-Abhá means A form of the Greatest Name, literally meaning "God, the All-Glorious." It is often used by Bahá'ís as a greeting. Thanks to all that can help with prayers also. R Alláh'u'Abhá If any of you are willing to give information re what can be expected by me, it would be appreciated. One realises that the questions asked here might be difficult to answer but any input would be appreciated. In early infancy the doctors diagnosed me with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. If God ordains it, my 50th birthday will be used as a Teaching opportunity next February. My life has been spent from a wheelchair with all four limbs immobile and since 1998 my life and work have taken place mainly from bed. Now an aggressive breast cancer has manifested. It is inoperable and due to my other health difficulties (including restrictive lung diseases) chemo and radiation are not an option. Hormone therapy has been suggested. Since the biopsy was done 10 days ago, numerous nodules have formed as well as new lumps and today there is swelling over my ribs. My energy level is low but my spirit sings as it is obvious that God could use this to His glory and it is an opportunity for our beloved Cause. The challenge is that my 73 year old mother plus 9 families are dependant on my business activities for income. In addition, the services available to me in South Africa are limited. Nursing skills have, for example deteriorated dramatically and while in a top class private hospital this week it was staggering to realize that my own care workers are better equipped to assist me than the professionals. Trips to the hospital are also traumatic due to the deformity of my body and the difficulties this poses in moving and transporting me. Consequently, it is necessary for me to put structures in place to be active and working for as long as possible and to ensure that crisis situations can be managed in my home. Any input you can give re pain management, what can be expected by me, etc would be appreciated. Here are some questions: What symptoms could be expected? The reason for this question is to know what to make provision for. Example, breathing problems or bone fractures. How does one assist those around me to deal with this when they refuse counselling? Are there questions that should be asked of my doctors and if so, what are they? All my love Renett Johannesburg South Africa www.talkingunity.co.za http://soaraboveadversity.blogspot.com
