Banana sandwiches - a real treat

I enjoy eating bananas and they are rich in vitamins too. Although I enjoy the good old fashioned banana split, covered with ice cream and chocolate pieces my very favourite way to eat a banana is mashed onto a slice of thick, crusty bread smothered in butter. Yes, yes, my doctor doesn't approve. Do you enjoy a banana sandwich or do you have another recipe for this lovely fruit?

Hmm this peanut butter and banana must be an American trend. If Elvis loved them I am surprised that they ar not on more menus as he popularised a lot of things didn't he?

Considering as to how they capitalise on every aspect of Elvis's life I am surprised too. Maybe they thought they were not "healthy" enough for today's lifestyle.

Oh I lurve thick butter with bananas! I like them in custard too but I have to be careful a some of the additives in custard turn me into a mad woman! I hadn't thought to put them into rice pudding, but now you mention it that is a very good idea and avoids the butter overload and additive freak out so I shall definitely try that, thank you.

Banan open sandwiches with a seed of your choice for breakfast is healthy, nutritious and filling! Banana has a god amount of potassium and if you are short of potassium thay advise you to eat bananas. Mt aunt went a bit mad and had a bout a pound a day - it got her potassium levels u andgave her a lovely rash, lol! Did you know that the white stuff in a banana peel isfull of stuff that makes you feel good, although it doesn't taste fantastic, they call it mellow yellow like that old song. Apparently you leave it on the windowsill to dry and smoke it, dunno if it's try but old time witches were meant to use it in spells and for inducing hallucinations with nutmeg. What an odd world. Oooh I'm so going to get jumped on for sharing this aren't I!

What a fascinating life you lead, you must show me this banana skin leafy smokey stuff when I visit. I shan't take any, I shall be too busy laughing at you coughing :-) I am still eating bananas but fortunately not enough to get me into potassium trouble. I have just got a liquidiser and another really really wicked treat is to whizz milk, banana, a little sugar and vanilla essence or vanilla ice cream. whoooo!

I love bananas too. I like them in my cereal and oatmeal. I like to make banana bread with them and puree them in fruit smoothies. I've made banana and peanut butter sandwiches too...yum.

I really enjoy a milkshake made with fresh milk, vanilla ice cream and bananas but I must confess I have never yet had a smoothie. The banana and peanut butter combo is here three out of three so I definitely am going to have to try this!

I like eating banana fritters. The way to do it is: 1. Take around 5 pieces of bananas and peel off. 2. Slice into half to make it thinner 3. Put 3 spoonful of wheat flour into a boul 4. Put a pinch of salt into the flour 5. Mix the flour with some water, stir until it becomes like a flour coating (like paste, but not too thick) 6. Dip the bananas into the flour, and deep fry until golden brown. 7. Take out, and serve. Nice to eat with hot tea or coffee. I hope you enjoy this recipe. Have a nice day!

our family has a slightly different version of the banana sandwich. lightly toast 2 pieces of bread. smear one piece with peanut butter, then put sliced banana on top of that..and then lightly drizzle with some honey!! super good lol!

Hmmm, the toast and honey I lurve the idea of but I am not so sure about the peanut butter as well. I shall try that next time, but I shall just put peanut butter on a corner of the sandwich and then if I like it I shall put it on the rest of the sandwich. Thanks for that as I shall definitely try it.

I like eating banana. it's a cure for me for diarrhea. i will just eat a kilo of banana and the next day i will have no more diarrhea. but i have to drink a lot of water or else i will have constipation. isn't that funny. but there are lot of potassium in banana. which we need in our body. i have a friend who have experienced like a thyroid problem. i am not really sure if it was thyroid. and the doctor advice him to eat a lot of bananas. and that helped him a lot. so there's a lot of good things about it besides being so delicious. for me banana i will choose the big one. though the small ones are great too.banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.
