Welcome to the site and congrats on getting your first friend here. The best way to get known on the site is to read around discussions which are in your interest areas and write good quality responses to them. You will them find automatically that people will add you as a friend. Personally I don't add people as friends until I've taken part in their discussions or they've responded to some of mine. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it and soon enough you'll have dozens of friends here. Good luck. x
