Hi I was wondering are hamsters good pets to breed? Does anyone know what other small pet is good to breed and doesn't smell bad please.

Hamster babies - This is a mom and her babies.
Hi. I used to work in a Pet shop. Hampsters will breed if you have male and female in the same cage. If you keep the cage clean they will not smell. Use cedar chips for bedding. Give them a few inches of bedding. Once the female gives birth you have to take the male out or he might eat the babies. Once theres babies dont touch them or the mom wont take care of them. Clean around the nest and feed the mom 2 times a day. Once the babies have opened there eyes and started runing around and eating food you can put them in a separate tank.{watch though the babies will breed, then you will have a bunch more babies, seperate male and female}Mice and Rats are also easy to bread. So long as you feed them and change there bedding every other day they will do great and not smell. Hope this helps some!!

Hi thanks loads I have just bred the rats and they have babies, but they do smell even though we do clean them that's why I thought about hamsters. The baby rats are beautiful and we may do it again, but it's finding good homes because if we sell them to a pet shop a snake breeder may get them and they are well cared for so I don't want that to happen. With hamsters they are more like pets so people will hopefully buy them as pets. Thanks for your advice.

animals are born to be smelly.. ya know because they never took a shower by themselves, even if they do bath such as elephant, they dont know how to use soap.. smelly pets depends on the owner, they wont be smelly if they're good taking care of

Guinea Pigs are good to breed too. Very friendly and don't stay up all night trying to eat their way out of the cage. But they are a bit big for the house.
