Birthday Gift for a 13-year old

What do you get a 13-year old teenager who is not the rough and tough type. He prefers to do individual things, read and chess and is very strong academically - is not a group-guy.He already has Playstation and a computer with games - MP3 player. Don't know. Suggestions please...
