How often do your kids mess up your important papers?

Today my little girl got hold of my composition notebook where I store all my ideas for My Lot discussions. Needless to say, before I found out, she had a field day marking over everything with a black crayon. I think I can salvage some of the discussions, but most are lost forever! It's no big deal. Ideas are a dime a dozen where I come from, so it shouldn't be hard to come up with more. I suppose some people would not consider My Lot discussions to be "important" papers, but considering that My Lot accounts for nearly 1/3 of my online income, it's very important to me. I guess you could say My Lot is my business! Has that ever happened to you? Has your little kid ever drawn on important business papers or contracts? Have they ever used your bills as coloring paper? How long did it take you to find out?

I guess we learned early on that important things have to be left out of reach of tiny hands. I keep a journal that is very important to me as it represents my year of everything that happened to me. I keep it with me all the time and write everything from recommendations I get from other moms to cute things my son says and does on a daily basis. He gets ahold of that regularly because it is always around. The first day I saw a scribbled on page I was a little upset. Now, I write a date next to the scribble and sometimes something sweet about him because I know someday when he is 30 those scribbles will be so precious to me.

My son tore up our electric bill the other day. It was sitting on the entertainment center in our room, and he just walked in there and grabbed it, and tore it right in half. He had something on his hand at the time, too. Luckily, we were still able to read everything on it, so we just wrote the account number on the check and everything and still got it out in the mail. I was a little mad at my husband for leaving it where our son could get to it, though. We normally keep bills that haven't been paid in an organizer that is screwed into a wall where it's too high for our son to get into. The water bill had just come that day, though, and I guess he just forgot to put it away.

I keep all of our important papers up as I never allow the kids in the files. I had that happen too much with my first one and so I learned from that. Kids will get into anything that they can. How do you make a third of your income with mylot and only have 1989 posts? I have almost 1400 and I have only had two $10 payouts.

i have had this happen so many times,my 3 young babies like to touch everything.especially the important stuff that we need.they love to be picaso lol.but what me mad the other day was i had a piece of paper with cats names on it that was from mylot friends that me and my husband wanted to use to pick our decision, and yesterday my one son ripped it up into pieces.i was upset because i had everthing written down for all the names, and now i had to go back to my lot responses and find it there. i wanted to show my customer yesterday so she could help pick a name.its always the stuff we feel is important to us they decide to rip up or color on.i think they know which ones to choose, lol they are really smart.smarter than we think.thats so funny how this happened to you too, great story

In my home, nothing that is "mine" is "sacred." My children get into anything and everything of mine. I'm not sure what makes them so fond of my stuff, as they do not touch anything that is their dad's. The only way I can keep things safe is by hiding them on the top shelf in my closet, without them seeing me do it. If they see it, they will be into it. :o)
