Do you see a decline in the MyLot discussions?

I've really slacked myself in the discussions here at Mylot, basically because I spend more time at gather. I've noticed that the discussions on MyLot have really slowed down a lot and for obvious reason my own income has gone down a lot. Anyone else noticed this?

I am new here, but I can tell you that this is not the best site to make moeny. I am not spamming, but I have a blog on Dooyoo which is still a good website to make money.

I joined Dooyoo (and Ciao) some years ago, and found that the earnings potential decreased with changes in the earinigs rules.

I've noticed that, too. I've been trying to get back into mylot lately, but it's hard to find good stuff to respond to now. I used to be able to respond to 20-25 discussions a lot of days, but now I find it hard to do 10. And the pay has definitely gone down, too. It's getting where you can't really make any money on here, unless you spend a bunch of time on mylot everyday. If I was just on here for the pay, I would probably not get on here anymore. There are definitely sites out there that pay better. But I still come to mylot just to see what everyone is talking about anyway.

Well I haven't noticed the lack of discussions necessarily but I have noticed a big decline in discussions I'd want to respond to. Sorry if this offends anyone but I get tired of the discussions about personal hygiene or personal bm habits (and yes I've gotten a fair amount of those) or the ones that try to be humorous about non-humorous subjects. They just don't interest me. There are many others I get that yes the first time might have been fun to read but constantly hearing the antics of a child, pet, or significant other gets redundant. Especially if you get two or three posts a day on it. I've also noticed a big increase in discussions about trying to make money online from other places besides mylot. To be honest I haven't been here as much and my earnings reflect it. I just can't get motivated to post to such discussions and reading them gives me the impression no one wants to bother with quality discussions anymore so why bother posting them?

Yes, I too have noticed this. All I really see are discussions pursuading people to join their links to money making opportunities, or if not that, quite stupid or boring subjects. I usually start my own and go back to respond to their responses to defeat my boredom and to keep me interested. I just hate to see mylot with such uninteresting subjects. That is why I try to write my own interesting subjects, (at least I seem to think they are more interesting then money making links and such). Good post and good day to you.

Yes, hockeygal, I think it is apparent to everyone that has been on myLot for awhile. A site can be only as good as the people who are on it make it. When there is a lot of negativity it will soon lead to people not wanting to be here anymore.

Yes, I too have noticed that the discussions worth respondind to have really slacked up here on Mylot. I do not spend much time here either. I too spend most of my time on other sites. There is no money to be made here anylonger. I come to mylot ony because of my friends.

I have noticed a real drop in pay and granted I am not here merely for pay but when you spend a whole day and make a penny it says something is happening;) I have 29 referrals.

I flip flop between Gather and MyLot. I am trying not to put all of my eggs in one basket.

I've noticed this as well, probably the reasons are there are more people on Mylot (over 100,000) now although I think the active user rate is around 10-20%, which means its more difficult to see regular contributers who are not in your friends list, also some of the more active people seem to start less discussions. This is also holiday time for a lot of people, and obviously its more difficult to find time if you are away somewhere. People also spend more time at sport in summer, and also some try to spend more time with their families. There has also been lots of other problems as well, floods in England, and parts of Europe, also in Asia as well, not to mention things like Bridges collapsing. That doesn't mean things won't pick up soon when autumn arrives (possibly with a vengance).

Yeah discussions and responses are way down but I believe there is a very easy answer for that. Most users are from the U.S. and India which of course we're both going through Summer. That's why they call it the "Lazy days of Summer." People are either tired from doing their Summer activities with family and friends or lackluster because of the heat. The second reason has a lesser impact but is still a contributor. There are many of these sort of sites starting up taking away some users. I'm in the same shoes as you. Well maybe not. I'm not good in heels. lol That's my perspective. ‹(°¿°)›

I used to wear flip flops growing up in Jersey but I wear sandals here in Florida. You need a bit more comfort in the nearly year round heat. ‹(°¿°)›

I must agree. I am on here less, but then I am working a lot. And yes, the amount we get paid is less, so I think a lot of people that posted good discussions have left. I also get frustrated, I look for good questions and the way the system is set up, when I go to my friends discussion I see discussion I have already answered. Duh--- give me fresh content not stuff I have already answered. This way I can make more efficient use of my time. I will finally hit $10 tomorrow...first payout since May and will not see it for what...maybe another 5 weeks that is a long time to wait for $10. I think discussion are there..but they are getting hard to find

I have also noticed that there is a major decline in MyLot discussions. There are many similar discussions which I see started by many of my friends of the same topic just to gather more response. This results in discussions getting bored. I love to post responses to unique discussions but they are really hard to find in a few weeks. I joined on May 1st and raced easily to 500. Then easily to 1000 but its getting alot hard for me to increase in responses as MyLot only pays to meaningful and quality responses. MyLot members should keep on starting heallthy, intresting issues.

I noticed a distinction between quality and quantity, there used to be alot of babble on unimportant topics like anything to do with Linsey Lohan, or Britney Spears or people in the media who have just enough money to get out of trouble only to get right back in and pay some more. It is some fascination with gossip that striked several discussions here; but then quality started to come into discussions and even though fewer ones existed more people do participate. This is a testing ground for newspapers, magazines, journals and even radio shows can use to get the first-hand opinion of hot-topic news, but make it good and you have readers all over it. I have to admit though i got lazy once I reached 425 posts and knew yeah 75 away from 500 and I can copy and paste, but what for . . . I already use html and embeds and long dissertations don't always make the most sense. I notice there are certain times that there are more posts then others in all of the message boards I am on. Being in the US, and this being one of the few boards I chat on that is not mostly US, Canada, and some of Europe, it is one of the few that seasonal patterns will not affect the same. On the other boards, the summer is slower as there is more outdoor activities and people aren't in front of the computer as much. Christmas is another time that it slows down for a while. I don't know if it is as noticeable in the southern hemisphere as it is now in the winter rather then the summer now. How about a response to that fact too.

I have noticed that there are a lot less discussions being started, though a lot of the ones that do get started are getting more responses than I'm used to. Maybe everyone is just posting responses, rather than new discussions. I also have been slacking off in my posting, because I've had a lot more stuff to do in other parts of my life. I'm hoping my life is going to go back to normal after this weekend, but I doubt it. I have too many hobbies, and never enough time for them all. :)

Yea, I think so too. I have spent more time browsing for interesting topics to respond to when before there was no shortage of interesting discussions. I guess this things are natural to this kinds of sites. Let's hope it will pick up in time.

Hi hockeygal4ever! I have been here for just a month now and it was a fellow myLotter who got me into joining...she told me that I could gain friends and at the same time earn...however, it is quite difficult earning but I did gain some friends here. And I noticed some negativity here in myLot...and i have avoided some because it's not really my style to push on issues that may provoke people to say rude comments. I do disagree on certain issues but I do it politely. I have in some ways not really that excited anymore as I used to be. However, this is just me...maybe I haven't yet explored myLot completely. :)Take care and have a nice day!
