Would you do a TV commercial if some asked you too?

My husband and I had insulation in our ceiling blown into our home last month. We recently had a home inspection and found out we had none. The company who did the work called me today and asked me if I would be interviewed for one of their TV commercials? Now I have been on the local news before for National Sleep Awareness Week four yeas ago. I did fine, but I am not interested for my 15 minutes of fame. On the other had, if they are willing to take off some of the bill maybe I will sacrifice my shyness and be on one of the commercials. Do any of you want to be on TV? Do you want your 15 minutes of fame or do you like to be the one not in the center of attention?

I think you should do some serious discussions with the company and ask them directly if any kind of payment is involved for appearing in a commercial and yes, if it could be applied to the bill--hehe...as for me...I did study acting in college and even went to Stella Adler's Drama School so I'm no stranger to acting, but haven't in years...but there still might be the ham in me to go for it...LOL

the bottom line is if I get paid or not. I feel if I get paid or take some off of our bill I will bite the bullit and dress up and do a commercial for insulation.

I would love to do a TV commercial... my 15 minutes of fame. What makes me smile is when I see these attractive young women who are doing commericals for pads or tampons and I think to myself... is that the best their agent could get for them?

I have been interview for TV several times and have been at press conferences because of my advocating for the Alzheimer's medication called Aricept, it is not covered in our province's forumlary, so it must be paid for out of pocket or you go with out, and a lot of seniors can not afford the $173 per month that it costs. I have no problem speaking in public or in front of TV cameras so if you need the discount they may offer go for it, just make sure you get paid weather they use the commercially or not.

I can get up in front of a crowd and do public speaking and have no problems. Now infront of a camera where I can see myself later is what I cannot stand. LOL

LOL, I think I wouldn't mind doing the commercial. The thing that would stop me is the 15 minutes of fame. I just don't think I could handle a public life. Of course I know a 15 min commercial wouldn't bring that kind of fame but still I know the thoughts of everyone knowing me would freak me out! Oops I just thought of a couple of commercials they actually did give people their fame for a short time so I guess it could happen! Nope that is scary to me! But still I say to you; go for it for the fun of it!

I have done the public speaking circut in our town for a job that I had and I was also interviewed for the loacal news for the same job. I liked the public spaking I was teaching the public about sleep medicine and I loved my job. I hated being on TV. I am not sure if I will do this commercial or not. I am leaning towards it if they take off some of our insulation bill. LOL

I would totally do it! I would want a bit off the bill though. Not a freebie for them... HEHE I don't mind being on TV. I was on a kid show in canada when I was five, too bad the Beta tape doesn't work anymore hehe. Also was on the news for the winter olympics about the youth would were supporting the canadian team. Recently we were on a documentary on the french community here for french canada tv. I think the only reason they picked us though were they spoke french and my daughter and I spoke it back to him. Though I am not french. Howard is though. The kids are always on the local tv for band and singing concerts. It is fun. No harm in it unless your in the witness protection program. HEHE

No witness protection program here. I feel I am to ugly to be on television. I cannot stand my looks that is the real reason I do not want to be on TV. That is another reason I will not put my photo on my avatar. My hubby loves me and tells me I am beautiful. When growing up I was told everyday I was ugly, I cannot hardly stand to see myself in photos or in the mirrow. Now you are the only one who knows the truth.

i don't think i wouldn't mind if somebody make some offer...LOL...especially if it's pay good. Like you said if it can take off some or even one of my bill i will definitely do it. Either the center of attention or not, as long as it is a good deal it won't matter

Yes why not? What ever, as long as there's an oppurtunity. It's another experience and exposure. Who know's you might be discovered then?
