Here in Minneapolis it has been VERY dry all summer and spring. We are way behind in precipitaion this year. Due to the dry weather and way too many days with the temperature over 90 degrees the leaves are already changing and falling from the trees. When did fall start showing up in late July early August? Do you have leaved turning colors and falling already in your home area? I love my red maples leaves as they turn this beautiful red and yellow. I just hope winter doesn't show up late August with blizzards and tons of snow. HAHAHA!!! Anyhow I'm on a discussion roll today it seems. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

When I took a walk the other morning, I noticed the elm leaves dry and falling. Now we are just the opposite of you guys, we have had an abundance of rain all season long, and we have temps in the 90's, but 100's are normal for us. I was told the other day that the rain will continue through November, that November would be dry, and that December would have tons of snow. It should be interesting. That was according to the Farmer's Almanac, and the person who said this said that the almanac is only right 40% of the time, but that is a lot more correct than the weather man.

Today it was only 74 and I wanted to get my long pants and sweater out. HAHAHAHA! I'll wait though for that. I think that farmers Almanac and the weather channel are both around 50% right. I could be the weather man here. Today we have a 50% chance of sun and 50% chance of clouds. HAHAHAHAHA! Sound right to you? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My husband says hat about Australia's almanac. It's interesting to read about all these leaves falling. We don't so much of that in my suburb, which is mainly 90% native.

Well so far we haven't experience leaves changing color like that, but it's been horrid here too, very very hot, hardly any rain, and this heat has really done a number in sapping my energy...It's a good thing they don't put a restriction on how much water one can drink otherwise I'd be in violation and breaking the law...LOL--Mmm..blizzards in August and tons of snow...right now, I would LOVE that!

Not too many of our native trees are decidous, most areevergreen. Of course, many people grow imported plants which are not native to our country, which is going to be a disadvantage once water rescritions continue. Nevertheless, neighbours up our streeet have a pretty mayple type tree. I noticed the leaves turning yellow a few weeks ago. It is very attractive in that satage. We are in mid winter.

Fall does sound like a wonderful season to enjoy. We don't experience Fall in this area. I do miss the falling leaves, but do enjoy my really nice weather. Have fun raking leaves.

I've been noticing the same thing, Grandpa Bob. The oaks, ashes, elms and now walnuts are all starting to turn yellow and dropping. I was thinking wtf..it's July, not Sept.!! btw..It poured here overnite last nite. We actually had to drain the pool some cause it was bout to overflow. News claims we got 2 1/2 inches, our pool says over 6" since that is how much we had to drain so the water level was back down to the skimmer.

That's a pretty leaf! It just boggles me how red those autumn leaves can get on those maples. :) It's been pretty dry here, too, but for this week. We have the chance of rain everyday. It rained all night and all day yesterday. I'll send a few rain clouds up north for you, OK?

It's to bad that the trees are turning so early. I wonder if this means that winter will come early? We have been dry last winter and dry this summer but that is common for us. We are green only where we water. The other day you talked about watering on certain days. That is has been an ordiance in our town for years. We pay more for city services because we have the pool, I am glad they have not put in water meters here yet. I do not know if we can continue to afford the pool.

It's hard to believe. Right now it's still hot summer in my side. I wish there will be some rain so that it'll be a little bit cooler. It's hard to stand outside.

Wow - I can't imagine Autumn starting this early! Here in England the leaves never turn until late October/November. In fact, this week is the first real week of Summer with temperatures of around 30 C and no rain for about 4 says now! The School Summer holidays have only just started here too. I do love the Autumn leaves and colours, but not for a while yet thanks very much:-))

well i don't know about the winter season because here in the Philippines we only got two seasons which are summer and rainy seasons..right now its very hot in here..it was supposed to be raining because it normally starts on June but they said we are in a drought year this year that is why it wasn't raining yet..the rain is starting by September as the weather report says..
