You always hear about haunted houses and hospitals, but what about nursing homes being haunted? You never hear about those having weird incidents and stories.

You're right! I've never thought about that, but people die in nursing homes all the time. Maybe old people are just more ready to die so they don't remain as spirits. Then again, ghost stories about old people probably wouldn't be too scary anyway.

What is a vicarage? I have never really been in or near a haunted house, but I have been in a house that was really creepy and I swear it could have come out of a horror movie.

Hello. a Vicarange is the same as Rectory, glebe-house, Manse or Parsanage that is what my dictionaries say. It is where the priest live.

Hi flight84. I have worked in numerous nursing homes in the last 11 years and yes some of them are haunted. I worked in one specific nursing home that was haunted. Let me give you a little history on the place. An older couple owned it and the husband went a little crazy and shot and killed the wife and then himself. The old man still haunts this place yet today. I used to pull double shifts and would work afternoon and then midnight shift and nightime is when old mr.hall tends to play with people. I had quite a few eerie experiences at night there. He would lock you in rooms, move things so you would have to look for it..he was very playful..thank God he wasn't evil..lol=)

Did I inspire you with my post the other day :p There's a movie called Bubba Ho Tep that's sorta about a Haunted Nursing Home. It's really about a Mummy in a Nursing Home. And this man who thinks he's elvis and a black man who thinks he's like JFK or something go after Bubba Ho Tep. I wouldn't think Nursing Homes would be so haunted. mainly because most people who die in nursing homes are old and have lived out their life. Whereas..Don't ghosts usually haunt because they have unfinished business and/or were killed or something? So I'd think the old people in nursing homes would be able to "move on" so to speak.

Actually you did get me thinking about haunted places the other day and I totally got inspired!:P My great-grandpa passed away in a nursing home and I guess it got me thinking. I guess you are right about old people having lived out their lives and not needing to haunt...you are very wise.:P
