Under eye circles. Hereditary or diet? I feel ugly!

Hey Mylotter, As you can see I have been experiencing a really uncomfortable problem. It's now crushed my confidance somewhat and I can't think about anything else. Probably because I'm starting to believe it's forever. No matter how much sleep I get or don't get, I still wake up with tired looking eyes. I guess it's called circles or bags. I've tried make up, cold water compresses, you name it, nothing works. My doctor says it may be hereditary or just the aging process kicking in. F--- him! He didn't even consider that maybe it's an allergy problem or something to do with my health. Just that I have a clean bill of health. So I ask you LS... I'm not asking for medical advice, I know that's a no no. Have any of you experienced or are experiencing the same problem? Is it hereditary? Is it an allergy problem? Is it a diet problem? I eat healthier than anyone I know and I don't drink. Is it a toxic liver? (I've heard this may be the case) (Doc says it's a gimick). Pretty please share your experience on this matter. It would help me big time.

hi sweetie, i can understand your concern. If this is really dark circle you are talking about and if good naps and diet didnot cure it then i guess it has to do something with genes. does your mom or anyone else in your family suffers from this? just check out and confirm yourself. However, i guess, you should not over burden yourself with untoward thoughts. this, in return does little or no help. just let go and things will improve i am sure. having said this, make sure to live a healthful life by avoiding junkies and having profuse veggies and fruits and ofcourse doing regular excercises and stuff like that. Cheers and be happy always.

..and dear, why do you have to bring in self confidence in this? I am sure you have plenty of good sides on which you can materialise instead of this mere tiny wee one. just forget and increase your self esteem. i know you have a lot in you. smiles...

I have always had somewhat of dark circles under my eyes but as i get older they seem to get worse.I have always been told by everyone that they are hereditary, but i don't really know.I went for one full year in college and took a cosmetology course, which includes the beauty industry and they said that it is a proven fact that they are hereditary...So I suppose thats all i have to go by.I do know that alergies do affect the eyes but along that line they would be more reddish and you would also have some type of itchiness along with it...I have tried everything on the market to help mine but nothing works..It is not bags though, bags under your eyes hang, but circles just look dark..What i do about mine is i put a light concealer under my eyes that is water proof and then put on my foundation and it always helps my eyes to look more open and alive...I don't think it would be your liver though because usually that just makes your skin have a yellow cast to it..I tend to think it does run in families and it gets worse as you get older...but as i said i do not know that for sure, but i have tried everything and asked everybody for years. The reason they get worse as you age is because as we age the skin under our eyes gets thinner and the color value gets darker...I fight the same battle daily,so all i can do is wish you a ton of luck.If you ever come across a fix let me know...

ya even i use to suffer from this but w its gone. I had that problem because of late night sleep. But in all cases the reason could not be the same u might be having blood circulation problem with which what happens is ur impure blood gathers their and gets black spots under the eyes. For this they are some Syrups i.e blood purifing syrips, i think u should consult your doctor about the good blood purifier available. Or their can be chance of body heat, i know the cure for this it cutting the two slices of cucumber and putting them under each eye for some time. And this thing works. I said i was having this but i did nothin just slept regularly kept a timetable of min 8 hrs of sleep. Thats it, and hope this thing will hell you out.......!

Hi dear why not you try some simple solutions.Peel some cucumbers and keep overnight in refrigerator. The followind morning soak cotton in that water and apply it to your eyes and do it in a gentle circular fashion.I have the same problem when I was in school and simply by taking lots of proper nutritious diets and water and applying this it got cured automatically.I never applied any market products for this.It sometimes is related to heredity but most of the times it maybe due to stress/lack of sleep/drinking less water or poor diet. You can also check for other home remedies for removing dark circle in net.
