would you bring your left over foods at home?

Everytime we eat on a restaurant it's always been my routine to ask the waiter to pack the remaining food so I could bring it at home... Is it okey?...I think so.

It is okay of course, you paid for the meal and it's a waste of money throwing it, so why not take it home. I've done it lots of times. Sometimes it depends also on the restaurant where we are having our meal. But it is definitely okay to bring left overs at home. We always ask for a doggie bag and tell them to mix all the food for our dog. cheers! :D

Yeah, its quite ok as far as the authorities don't mind. I have the same habbit of doing it every time i eat outside, and its quite better than throwing the remaining food away...

I almost always take left overs home with me when we eat out. If it is something that tastes good reheated, I use them for my husband's snack at work that night. If they are something that isn't so good reheated, I give them to my dogs and my cat as a treat. Since I paid for it, I don't see any problem with taking the food home. I would much rather have someone in my family eat the food, than it just get thrown in the trash. That's such a waste.

I personallly dont as am usually too full to even think about saving food for later, but don't see the problem in it at all, after all you paid for the food it is yours I dont see teh problem in bringing some home for later if you cant manage to eat it all. My daughter reguarly does so in Mcdonalds she never eats it all and an hour later she wants something more to eat so brings it with her and snacks n what is left while I finish my shopping ect

it is generally okay and acceptable but you have to pick which restaurant to do it in. some restaurants are so ultra formal that it is an unwritten rule not to ask to bring home your leftovers. only bring home leftovers if you are eating in a regular restaurant

I used to always do this, you have paid for the food I think it is a compliment to the restaurant to want it and a shame to leave it to be thrown away but I believe some restaurants here in Australia won't do it any more for some reason, I think it has something to do with transporting food and if someone gets food poisoning because of transporting food problems but I can't see any difference in taking leftovers home and picking up take away so I think it is a bit of a mystery why they don't like doing it now.

I don't see anything wrong with this. In fact just last Saturday when we have treated our customer to a lunch, I have taken home the left over food. We have pay for this and I think its our right to do what we wanted to do to them, whether to left or take them home.

Of course its okay, you paid for it. And that's why they have special containers just for that. I prefer eating at home with a book or movie so I generally fill up on bread and salad and take maybe one bite of my meal and take the rest home! :)

I will ask the waiter to give me a doggie bag for the leftovers if I cannot finish it and if I like the food. It is ok for us to take it home since we have paid for this. Many people do, I think, except those who want to show that they are rich.

Yes it is ok to do that. I ask for a bag so I can take it home to my dog she loves to get left ower with her dog food and the resturant only throwe it away instead give it to pig farmers.

Sure. You paid for it. It's yours. They would only throw it out anyway. I always bring home leftovers because I am a light eater and never can finish my meal. Sometimes I eat the food later and sometimes my dog gets a little treat but at least it doesn't go to waste.

Yes, of course! You paid for it, so might as well take home what's left of it. we call it the "doogie bag". *bow wow* ... when we actually don't have a dog. :D

I do if I really like the food. I think it's fine to do so, after all you already paid for it.

It's ok of course if you bring your left over in your home. You pay for that and you have the right to take it home. I usually do that if we have leftover i bring it home. Otherwise they will just put in the garbage so it's better that i will bring it.

All the time - in fact if I know I won't finish I purposely leave enough that would make a nice lunch for me or my husband. If it is not something we would reheat then it goes to the dog. First it is a waste to throw out and second we are on a tight budget and won't throw money away like that. It is funny that I read this because last night we went to a wedding and this place I knew was notorious for large portions. Well what came out on my plate could have fed a family of four. I said to my husband what a waste after appetizers, soup and salad who could eat all this. Well as everyone was finishing up their meals or realizing there was no way they could finish, the waiters started bringing out containers for people to take their food home - I have never seen this at a wedding, some may think it was tacky but I thought serving sizes were so obscene that it would have been an incredible waste.
