I found that my rating are down today. It went from 202 to 200. I think some of my posts are deleted because the discussion on which I have posted are deleted. So, now I have decided to check the activeness of those users and reputation on mylot before reponding to any discussion. I know it's bit time consuming. But, I don't want to lose my earning. So, what you think. What do you check before responding to any discussion? What's your method? Share your views...

When I am posting I never check how much posts I answered. I know I should do it and I should do what you are saying too. I just don't see how I can manage the time. I spend some hours just to post, I can't spend anymore checking the posters. But that's me, obviously. I am sure posters that have english as first language will find it easier to post fast and check other posters.

There is short cut the check his activeness. You just need to go his/her profile page and check from how many months he/she is with mylot and last login. I just check this information with the type of subjects he/she has posted.

I am never really bothered by ratings nor the activeness/reputation of users whom I respond to. For me, if the topic interests me and I can contribute something, I just submit my response. I don't think I have really lost earnings due to deleted posts. Even if I had, this is insignificant such that it won't bother me. What I try to do is to steer clear of controversial subjects. In that way, I lessen the risk of my posts being deleted.

By checking their activeness I never got my single posts deleted yet. But, if the topic is really good I don't bother the activeness. I just contribute my thoughts.

I don't worry about it. If a discussion seems interesting and doesn't appear to violate any myLot rules, I will respond and let the chips fall where they may. One thing that probably brings my ratings down is a habit I have of pointing out things like plagiarism or the occasional blatant lie. For instance, if someone starts one discussion billing herself as a 20-year old single woman and is flirting with everyone, but in an earlier discussion she had said she was 32 and married, I might ask her, "What is your game?" This probably does not help my ratings, lol.

I assume that you are talking about the post number in parenthesis after your screen name and not the star reputation rating. The post count can go down if a discussion you responded to is deleted which can happee if some mylot rule was violated. Also, I have seen it happen temporarily probably because of some kind of server problem. The best thing to do is to just respond to discussions you find interesting and/or have something to contribute to and don't worry or waste time checking the other stuff.

It depends upon how interesting the discussion is. If the discussion is too interesting and hard to resist, i'll take part in it. If its a normal one and the user has'nt logged in for months, i don't, because it can't be called a discussion when only one person is being involved and the other is inactive. I want to have interactions.

I do not think about rating. Most important think is that, we have got the medium of sharing our thoughts & views with the world. where we come across so many vision of the same thought. It enhance our vision & provide us an extra ray of vision. Nothing goes in the vain. your time & energy which you have paid for that discussion must have enhance your knowledge & vision. Our every effort is counted because it earns experiance to us.

I don't pay attention to who wrote the discussion as I do to what the topic is about. If it's against the guidelines I pass it up cause it's going to get deleted sooner or later along with my point. So the important thing is to know the guidelines and judge from that. There are still things we can't see mind you. Like for instance I just recently lost a couple of points because unknown to me, the poster stole their post from another member. Straight up copied n pasted it. I had no idea it looked like a normal post to me. So things will happen from time to time no matter how careful we are cause there is always someone trying to cheat the system.

I personally think that it does not matter that much. I just make sure that the discussion remains valid when I answer it. If it is a discussion I have not answered before and still valid, yea, I would just go ahead and hit it. =)

No, it the discussion seems interesting or seems of any use at all to myself, then I will read through and then post my views. Even if the user isn't active, then there is a good chance that other users will have already replied whom might still be interested in top just as well as if you reply, then others might start to see the tread again and continue. By the way, I never knew posts and discussions get deleted due to inactive users. I only thought that discussion will be deleted only if it violated some terms and conditions.

I didn't even realize that I should be aware of this. I haven't paid any attention to user's post counts or activity. I just respond when I find an interesting post.
