You mean here in the Philippines right? Well, the first thing that I think almost all of us Filipinos will likely answer is that "nursing" is really a very in-demand course because of.. MONEY... When 70% my friends decided to take up nursing, I asked them why.. There answers are.. 1. More money and higher salary 2. Gonna work abroad 3. They really want to be a nurse MORE MONEY.. $$$ Since our country is a 3rd world country, salaries here are so little. That is why nursing students and graduates prefer to work abroad to provide for their families' needs and to support them. Working abroad is not an easy thing if you want to work as nurses. First is you have to pass the nursing board exam, file for a visa/passport particularly U.S visa, find a place to stay abroad, find transportation fee to your working country.. plus, endure working as a nurse. I am happy that I never took nursing even though my mom wanted me to take it. I never wanted to be a nurse. But I am amazed of some of my friends who answered that its their dream to become a nurse instead of earning more money as a nurse. :
