If it's not important letter, I will open it. But mostly , I will tell my hubby first, and if he asks me to open it, then I will. But my hubby always open my letter if he receives one.

Not ,I didn't open other's letter,it is the basic principle to live together .As we konw ,it was including pravicy, what is so important that one may be angry for we look it without his permission. In the other hand,I think we have to have ourself life and mind, There is something that didn't need to and can't share,There is so many things that other people can't help us. Give your lover more space to breath. And more space to live in yourself.

I don't open my husband's mail unless I know for sure it's a regular bill that comes in the mail that is under his name as I handle all the finances. Other than that, I don't open his mail and he doesn't open mine. We have nothing to hide but we respect each other's privacy.

out of respect to the receiver, i never open a letter unless told to... and even then i wouldn't read it unless asked... because i wouldn't want it done to me letters are private properties whoever sent it even if my sister send it to me, my brothers aren't allowed to open it, nor my parents... so in return i give them the same respect

It is actually a Federal offense in the United States to open mail that does not belong to you. But that is not the reason I would not open my husbands mail. I would not open it out of respect to him and his privacy. Even when I know it is a bill we have been getting every month for over 10 years I just wont do it. My son has been getting mail addressed to him since the day he was born. I always make sure I am holding him and talking to him about it when I open it. He is 3 yrs old now and loves to tear the envelopes himself. ;-P

I do not like people opening my mail and I will not open other people's mail. I could open if it is addressed to both of us, but usually I let my husband open it because if it is mainly his decision if it is a contest which we won or something. It is not right for your husband to open your mail because does he give you the surprise shock look that makes you believe that you were so stupid to fall for that/ or the disapproving look?
