Who know why linkin park named their band "LINKIN PARK"?

Ok....well, did you know Linkin Park was formerly known as Hybrid Theory?! (which became the name of the album)
They wanted a name change after their first attempt at the industry flopped! Guess where they played the first " we wanna be big now " gig?

Wow 509835178!I dunno bout that, thanks for the info :), is this their former name when they sang the song titled "Started to fly"?
Since i've heard the song on the web and still doesnt know which album it came from.
Do they have any song/album while their still using Hybrid Theory name?Please let me know if they have any, since I'm curious what they sound like before.

They were originally called Xero, when Chester Bennington joined they changed to Hybrid Theory, but I think there was another band called Hybrid so they had to change it because of copyright laws, they then decided on Lincoln Park, I think because on the band had to pass it everyday, but the domain name for Lincoln Park was too expensive so they changed the spelling to Linkin Park! Chester Bennington was originally in a band called Grey Daze which released too albums, then changed their name when he left!

Actually they named it after a park "Lincoln Park" that is. Since Lincoln Park is placed almost at every state in the US and it is considered a reminder of the late Abe Lincoln, so they chose that name so they can be remembered and welcomed in everyone's heart.
Why they change it to Linin Park?Thats simple, according to what I read, they change it when they are trying to build a fan-based website, due to the fact that "LincolnPark.com" has been used and registered in the web, so they changed it to "Linkin Park", so it can still be pronounced almost the same as "Lincoln Park".

Thanks for information,subversive_me.I didn't know anything about their name and that they have thought to be called "lincoln Park".I'm glad to see this information about them.I'm sure that when I tell that to my friends they will be happy,too.

I knew someone who used to go to the college where one of the boys went. he told me that they named their band after Lincoln Park...
