Driving like a maniac. What is wrong with kids these days?

I was inside last night and heard a loud crash. This guy crashed into my work truck. He said he would pay for it if he didn't get into any trouble. So basically he was saying I wrecked your vehicle so you can't work tomorrow and if you don't tell on me, you have to give me a loan and I will pay for the damages. What kind of crock of BS is that. He didn't show any cash and I am not one to trust people especially a drunk. So I called the police. He drove away knowing that I had his license plate number. He couldn't have thought he would get far with a flat tire and wrecked vehicle. The police come and go looking for him. I KNOW the police do not care. So I did my own search. When I made it back to my house there were 3 cop cars. I thought to myself "If they cared 2 of them would still be looking." I said "I found it." Would you believe the cop was ignorant enough to look in the opposite direction toward the other police officers to see who was the "hero". What kind of cop doesn't know a sound is coming from behind him. Any way I found the guy. I found him. Not the police. I know they don't care so I had to do their job. This goes to prove what I have said about police in my other discussions. We went to the guys house. They gave him a sobriety test. He failed. The legal limit in my state is .08% blood alcohol. His was at least .135%. He is now in jail with DUI, hit and run as well as driving without insurance charges against him. I figured I would write about this scumbag and let everyone see. I have zero tolerance for people who drink and drive. This idiot ran a stop sign and hit my truck going who knows how fast. If he had not been drinking I am sure it wouldn't have happened. Personally I don't know how he hit it. And he will pay for it just like he said. Where I live you are on probation until you pay all fines and restitution. It will be for the rest of your life if you do not pay. If this drunk had hit a child then the parents would have to pay the medical bills because he doesn't have insurance which is illegal in my state. I felt sorry for the guy when I was sitting in the cop car and they were giving him the sobriety test. But he was drunk while driving. Something I would never do and he deserves whatever happens to him.

Believe me, you're doing everyone a favor by helping to get this irresponsible drunk off the road for a while. It's a good thing he didn't hurt or kill someone.

The houses are also close to the street. If he had hit my house he wouldn't have been walking. I would be in jail with him. I uploaded a photo of his mugshot but it didn't post when I submitted the discussion. So I uploaded the photo to my profile. His name is Cesar Javier Castro-Torres and 21 years old. I have never met a Dominican in this area. Since we live near the college I would guess they imported him for the baseball team.

Does the guy even have insurance, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. This might not be his first dui either. Another reason for him not wanting you to report the accident.

I just looked at his picture on your profile page, and I see now he doesn't have insurance. I hope he pays for your truck somehow.

I guess discussion should be who are policemen. I graduated from a university which there always policemen were in. Some policemen killed themselves in the middle of school because they've been in love with a student from university. Policemen in my country have rights to carry weapon like all around the world but no one is checking if he is ok to carry. And sometimes it happens and he finds him self in the middle of nowhere.Just in a middle of depression. And since he has right to carry a weapon he can kill someone. Who ever rights to carry a weapon has to be mor carefull.

Drunk drivers deserve whatever happens to them....I hope you get reimbursed for everything. It is sad that the so called home defenders aren't more caring of the rights of the citizens they are supposed to be protecting. More often than not they are just out there for the money and that sure does not do anything to increase their credibility or my saftey.

Exactly. The street is large enough for one vehicle in the evening when cars are parked there. He was going fast now that I look at the damage. My truck is solid. Not the new plastic trucks they make. To give you an idea his truck was demolished. The guy didn't stop at a stop sign and was going fast enough to twist the bumper and knock the bed of the truck forward. The tailgate doesn't open and who knows what else. Luckily he didn't hit any houses. They are not far from the street. To give you an idea, there is just enough room to park a vehicle in the front yards around here. Now I have to junk up my front yard by putting steel posts at the edge of the yard so some other drunk doesn't hit the house. I am also taking out all of the flowers and going to park in the front yard. You can park in the yard if it is insured and registered.
