Have you heard that the age of consent in many states is being lowered? What do you think of this and why?

When I was in high school the age of consent in Pa was lowered to 14. That was quite a while ago. It looks like it got raised to 16 when i wasn't looking. That is a good thing but it doesn't explain why there are so many pregnant 15 year olds around here.

Exactly. Its important for us as parents to instill morals in children and show them what the consequences of certain actions will be. Because whatever the age of consent is, you can't hold your babies hand their whole life...

Thanks for the links. This is absolutely scary! The thought that if my daughter who is 16 gets seduced by some 25 year old ( God forbid) then he gets away with it. No rape, no charges, nadda. That's a legislation I will fight. Gov. Charlie Crist is going to be hearing from me!

No, problem. I really thought the age of consent was 18 in all states...until my husband read a news story - which prompted this post - on the effort to get it lowered in some eastern states. I then found a slew of articles of people trying to get it changed worldwide.
