Wow I bet that was scary for those SPCA workers to have to pick up that spider. I'm also very happy that he called them and didnt just release the spider on the streets.

Some people handle these spiders everyday. I have seen them for sale at pet stores. They aren't as bad as they seem, according to people who like them.

I am glad that he did not release the spider. It would have been really dangerous. I'm glad that it was properly taken care of.

Tarantulas are strange creatures to be sure. Some, however, are not the monsters we like to think they are. Sure they bite but not all are seriously poisonful. Did you know that if you put a trantula in a freezer it will go into suspended animation? Pity the poor fool who opens the freezer and sees it!

My question is where did he get the spider in the first place? He did a good job to call the SPCA instead of dumping it in street like you said. For once a nice story where someone did the responsible thing.
