Who makes all the decisions in your family? You? Your hubby? Your parents? Is it a mutual decision - something discussed and then the decision reached by mutual concensus?

it's definitely a combo. and it depends on what sort of decisions. financial and family-affecting decisions are discussed by every body. but if i want to cook something specific, or have a wall a certain colour, then it's my choice! =P I'd like to think I'm in charge, but that I'm fair and open. =]

Ah so you're a fair and benevolent dictator - you even let everyone think the decisions are mutually decided!

Isn't everything political - from, work, school, homelife. Yep, you may have guessed it, I'm trying to get the last word. This is an old discussion so likely you won't notice. :)--

Do you suggest I get into politics? =P It's always nice to let them *think* that, everyone can't always get their way when I want to! ;]

Both my husband and I make decision together as one... If one don't agree we say so and try and work threw it.. I don't live with my mom so I don't have to worry about that.. Though even if I did and being an adult I will choose my own decisions..

Its great that you're able to make mutual decisions - and if there is something you don't feel the same about you talke through it. Its important to have communication in relationships - any relationship. What about large purchases - like if he wanted a motorcyle or you wanted a great pair of expensive shoes - or whatever you guys are into that might cost a great deal. Or that would have recurring paymnets like a gym membership?

I think I probably end up making more of the decisions for our household than my fiance does. He is fairly indecisive, though he will let me know if a decision matters to him. Generally, though, if I didn't step in and make the decisions, nothing would ever get done. :) When it's really important, we definitely discuss it together, but if someone looked into our relationship, they would probably say that I "wear the pants."

Some things I decide. Some things he decides. Sometimes we both talk it out. Food-if I go shopping, I decide. If he goes shopping, he decides. Cars, trucks, before we buy, we discuss it and we decide. Repairs to the house, we decide. Changes to his workshop, he decides.

Sounds fair and equitable - although I'm wondering what area is yours only to decide

My job, I decide. Housework, I decide. My car, I went to look at first and then he came and helped me decide. What cleaners get used in the house, I decide. Who we invite to dinner and when, I decide.
