Ever met a lunatic with a hair trigger?

August 19, 2007 12:46pm CST
Man what is up with these people? They are fine till you say one thing that rubs them wrong and then they instantly become an obsessive raving stalker. Nuts due to most likely a chemical imbalance or possibly inbreeding, is what I think the problem is, but how to deal with them is the question? Do you run for the hills in hopes your legs are faster than theirs or do you attempt to stand your ground in hopes maybe you can find that magical word to turn them off again? What are your thoughts? Have any solution that may help to deal with them? ? ? ?I read and rate all, but most importantly, I thank all? ? ?

Crazy Teenager - When they become teenagers, they become little devils
Apart from these there is another breed THE TEENAGER!!! I live with 2 and there are quite a few crazy moments when I just want to take to the hills and stay there until they reach their 20's. I have a 17 yr old daughter, who when pre-menstral, can give anyone a run for their money. Say the wrong thing and she will roar!! A 14 yr old son who constantly winds me up that we get into rows, especially when I ask him a question and he has no tollerance to give me advise. He will explain it once and if I don't understand, its my bad luck!! Other lunatics I let rant and strangely enough I stay really calm and when they have finished I say my piece then walk away.

Apart from these there is another breed THE TEENAGER!!! Yeah I have two girls heading to those horrible years as we speak.... EEEEK! Other lunatics I let rant and strangely enough I stay really calm and when they have finished I say my piece then walk away. I should, it would make life so much easier, LOL. I have a peeve when I am minding my own business and I trip over one setting them off like a land mine. I am ok till they stalking begins. *sigh* Thanks sweetie for the reply and good luck with those teens, in a few years you can lock them out of the house and it won't be against the law, LOL.

I don't really know what advice to give other than try to ignore them and report them when nessasry. This site seriously lacks the block option. If we had this option then it would be SO much better because problems like this would be avoided. You could just block them from viewing your page and your discussions. Then they'd have to try really hard to find you LOL.

Oh man block would be nice, let me tell ya. What makes it worse it they run off on a character assassination spree after wards on here. Talk about being ate up. What makes it sicker is they know what is here, is here it’s not going anywhere unless it violates rules, so anyone can see what goes on. Yet they attempt to treat everyone here as if they are mindless fools and try to change the events, LOL. Reminds me of that song that goes…”People are strange”.

Oh yes I have met quite a few of these people but not in my personal life. They seem to all be online, especially in myLot. I can only think it is because they have either no life apart from the Internet or would be certified insane if they exhibited this type of behaviour in "real" life. They become rabid foaming at the mouth which travels down to their fingers when posting online. I could be that they are timid, little downtrodden (rabid) mice in real life and this is the only way they can show their true colors.

Oh yeah, over 90% of these people wouldn't dare act like this to someone’s face, oh no. They grow instant courage here in cyber world and go nuts. I know there have been times, I so wish they were in my face saying half of the trash they say on here to me. LOL, it would be a site to behold, let me tell ya. But what can you do? Hunting them sounds rather nice, but man with the price of gas these day, don't know if it would be worth it.....or would it? LOL

I once new a guy who was exactly like that, thank god I have changed for the better. I would have to say the best thing you can do is either ignore them or just outright tell them look I dont know why you are so mad and hateful but its not anything I have done. People who are angry like that are angry because they arent really facing up to the person or situation that is making them bitter.

Great point! This is so true and one of the many reasons for them acting this way. I reckon they are feeling helpless in one part of their life, so they are taking it out on someone or something.

Hey, I used to be that lunatic. Well, maybe I still am. Though I never actually stalked anyone. But I did have a bad hair trigger temper.I have improved over the years. I suspect that it is the result of my very bad childhood. My mom is not the nicest person in the world--I believe the term child abuse could be applied. You would disagree with her, and all of a sudden be getting thrown down the stairs or worse. The reason I think I have improved is that my ego (self-image) has gotten better. And I ended up in situations where I was in control (not by choice) and needed to be in control even when I wanted to dunk someone's head into the deep fat fryer. Each time I resisted the urge, I got better at controling my temper. I still have a temper, but it is a lot more subtle now. You don't want me to go silent on you, that is a really bad thing. LOL. I have absolutely no idea how to cope with that type of person. Honestly, the only reason my temper has gotten more under control is the fact that I ended up with life experience that allowed me to learn to control it. Of course, that makes me more dangerous--an angry brooding genius is not a good thing. LOL. Good luck with figuring this one out. And if you do figure it out, make sure you tell me the solution--I need one for dealing with my father-in-law.

Wow! Thanks for the insight there, but I can't imagine you being anything in the world like the fruit loops I am speaking of. You don't want me to go silent on you, that is a really bad thing. OMG! That is what my husband does and I have to jump in and cool things off or just run LOL! It's scary when he isn't going off, but just looking at them with this stare that clearly reads, "I am going to kill you now". Lucky for us, he responds to me and I have a way of calming him down. However it really takes work on someone's part to get him to that state. Last time was when a female called our then 6-year-old daughter a horrible name. Of course that time, I distracted him from going into “beast mode” by me going after her! :oD

As you might imagine my friend, I will try stand my ground. Not in the hope that i will find that magic word, but you give them back the same way as they give me. I really do not know why i choose to do this, maybe so many people walked all over me in the past and now im just not willing to put up with any crap.

Well that makes perfect sense to me. It's perfectly normal to have had enough and you just have to stand your ground sometimes. I know I fall victim to it. I find myself doing more so when it's uncalled for and they go to the extreme like creating 3 posts in regards to me as well as posting a troll post on my discussions. Man that sets me off. At that point I can't see me backing down until I feel satisfied they got my point and they won't bother me again. Terrible as it sounds, it's just one of many flaws I have, I reckon, but hey who doesn't have few?

You are sure not on your own in this babes. It take some doin to tick me of, unless at the time of the month, lol, but when i first get going there aint no stopping me. I guess its the feeling of powerlessness and frustrations, when somebody have a go at you and only reason they do so, is coz they can hide behind their screen. People who would never do you any harm in real life take their missery/frustrations out on ppl online, coz they do not do it to those who really sets them of in the first place. Personally i think you and I (and everybody else who agree) should stand up for our right not to put up with any more crap. GREETINGS!!! :)

Lunatics, huh? I think I work with a few. I know we have a few Obessive Control Disorder people too. Now when you combine a lunatic with an OCD you get real active insanity going. And that does not always have to be in the work area of your life. It can be anywhere. These people can be dangerous at times. Watch your backside.

Ignore them. Eventually they go away. Or at least they slow down.
