I have a tank with around 30 semi-adult guppies. Well in the last two weeks there have been atleast 3-4 babies in the tank everyday. There so tiny only a tail and an eye. LOL Now I have 40 babies!! I net them out of the tank and put them in a net breeder. Im going to have to get a bigger tank! I might have to take some to the pet store as well. I dont even know what I did right to get them to breed but man there breeding machines!! Do you have fish that breed often? What do you do with all the babies?

Most pet shops will take young guppies for free or might give you a little for them as feeder guppies. If you have a good strain of guppies and let them grow to near adult size you will be able to get ore for them. I have bred many different fish in my lifetime, right now I have a pair of fire mouth cichlids, some dwarf golden eyed cichlids, two pair of angelfish some blue convicts and some Cichlasoma oblongus that I am hoping to have breed for me. I am still waiting and hoping that I can get my fish room set up soon for breeding more fish.

Guppies breed whether you want them to or not, I don't think there is any trick to it. Right now I have 3 females and 2 males. They have babies non-stop. Right now I have 20 of them in a baby breeder. They are all in a 20 gallon tank. Since they have soo many babies, is catch the little ones when I can but I don't stress over it.

I used to have several fish tanks years ago. And in two of them I had guppies and platys. And they had babies galore! I ended up getting a plastic divider to put into the tank that kept the adults away from the babies. It worked really well. I kept some of the babies, but most of them went to the local pet store. I think I was the owner's best friend there for a while. LOL

I had the same problem. I ended up transferring some of them to my sister's tank. And if you talk to the pet store, I'm sure they'll take them off your hands.

On last Sunday the guppies at my home delivered about 15 baby guppies:) I am so glad to it. It is my first time that my pets have babies. This kind of fish is very easy to raise and have babies. This is why I like it.
