I've seen some really great, some average and some downright strange usernames so far on myLot, and I'm dying to know the stories behind your choice. For me, I found "Malyck" when i was trying to find a suitable name on the net for a kitten I planned on getting. I never ended up getting a kitten, but the name kind of stuck.. Stories please =D

My name is pretty simple. Pamela Kay is my name. I got this nickname when I was in junior high school. My firend asked my whet my middle name was and when I told her she thought I said cake and it just stuck...lol. It was pretty funny though. That same year I moved and went to a different school. I am now reunited with most of my friends from that school...so the name is back:)

The story behind my username is my then two year old niece could not say my name, Laura, without adding the "L" to it. So it just kind of stuck. 98 is the year I graduated. I've kept it the same over the years so that I don't have to remember 10 million screen names. LoL

I know what you mean, it's easier to have one multi-purpose screen name than remember them for all the different sites. I love the ways children say certain things =D

Well mine is known for those PS1 gamers, I got my username from one of FF8's character. I loved the game and that I also found the name a bit "cool" so I decided to use it, though the character of my username plays an antagonist on that game!;) Also, I used to display the character on my avatar but I got tired of it and I changed it of the creature that I am now using -which was also from the game, "Tonberry King."

One of my hobbies is genealogy. My username describes my family roots. The deepest blood line is 52 documented generations stemming from royalty. My family dates back to the year of 582. Very old family. Deeply rooted family with lots of history and stories.

Mmmm the origin behind my username.ll Well, I have had quite a few nicknames in the net some people from other places might recognize me by smilecan, nightshade, morningstar, even moonray, but the when that never changes is arkaf. It came to be about 10 years ago. My life was not at its best, my marriage was on the rocks and problems with my in laws where at an all time high. I needed to feel that I was still part of a team, that we were still an unit. Arkaf is merely our initials together with family at the end : A- Ana - R - Rui - K - Katya - A - Andre - F - family WE've all been using this one from time to time ever since. That's part of hubby's email, part of katt's blog, even Andre uses it when he wants to register in some game site and all his favorite nicknames are used :) I"m glad it stuck:)

zodiac wheel - our astrological signs could very well represent us
Dragon is my Chinese zodiac, specifically fire dragon so I was going to use that but for some reason I couldn't use it. Liondragon was another option because Leo is my western zodiac, but that wasn't available either. I ended up with wisedragon because I'm a sucker for wisdom. I love reading words of wisdom. Don't get me wrong. Although I do read horoscopes I'm not obsessed with it. I don't let it control my destiny. I just couldn't think of anything else to represent me!

Hi Malyck! I chose Faith because it is one quality that I am working really hard to have in my life. So, this is to remind myself always to have faith and be aware not to lose it. I guess, I wanted so much to have more faith than I have right now. Take care and have a nice day!

My name is a combination of my first horses name, and my nick name from school. My horse is called Genuine Fella, and as i'm not a guy, i couldn't really have the 'fella' bit in my usernames. The name Squeak, was given to me in high school, because i was quite small, and very quiet. So I am now genuinesqueak, on every forum i have joined, every site i need to register a username, blog sites, yahoo etc. I am known as genuinesqueak.

Oops! Sometimes i think i am blonde. They say though once you get to this stage of pregnancy you don't really have enough room in your brain to actually think about anything else but the baby. Must be true. And when i came to write this reply, i noticed i only just replied not long ago, my original post is just above this one. How embarrassing! hahaha. Well atleast this time, i had more time to explain everything better. Oh and the horse in my avatar is my newest horse (that i havent been able to ride properly yet because of a certain tummy) His name's Boney, that would be an even weirder username! (Boneysqueak... hmmm)

What a great question you posted here! I've also been curious about the various stories behind other's usernames. Somehow, I feel this is an extension of one's creativity, wisdom, and imagination. Well I guess, you were smarter and faster than me, because I also would like to post it here. You just outsmarted me! Anyway, my username is my penname as a writer of romance novels and poems. I used to think of a name which lacks any vowel and I came up with myk. And then, I also wanted a name which could be applied to either a male or a female. Or in other words, a unisex name like Alex or Gene. So, I thought of mari and I kinda joined myk and mari together. 8 is a Chinese auspicious number and also my favorite number. I believe it will give me great opportunities when I use this number. To sum it up, my username is composed of two names joined together and the auspicious number 8. Again, congratulations on your idea!

My user name is "meaculpa", it is a latin word which means "my fault" which was taken from the prayers "Confiteur Dei Omni Potenti" which means "I confess to Almighty God". This prayer is from the Roman Catholic Mass. I have a great love for the mass even the "Latin Tridentine Mass". That's our secret! Thanks to you!
