I just had my first lamaze class today and it got me thinking. When labor pains start do you remember everything you learned and actually use it or do you forgot the techniques they taught you in class. I know that each person is different, but I was just curious. Thanks.

I was in labor for over 40 hours with my son, but only 4 hours were spent in the hospital, so I was a little more relaxed. I never took any prenatal classes, Lamaz or any other, but I did beautifully. The pain was even bearable up to the point I got my epidural; it was never bad enough for screaming or crying, though I did want to die, lol. Just remember to breathe evenly and deeply so you don't hyperventilate and your kid has enough oxygen. Walking around and slow-dancing help TREMENDOUSLY. Blessed Be

Thanks for the advise. Not looking forward to the pain, but I know the outcome of seeing my child will be well worth it.

Yeah, I forgot everything. After 36 hours of labour, breathing was not what I was thinking about. I was thinking about how I wanted this kid out of me!! My husband kept telling me to breathe, and I know that if I actually stopped panicking and breathed deeply it would have made it easier for me. My advice to you is to try NOT to forget. The breathing will help if you have the strength to stick to it.

I have been to to try and relax. I have a few more months before the big day to keep telling myself that.
