New washing machine

The other day my washing machine decided to overflow with water on to my kitchen floor. After mopping up water for 2 hours my back was killing me. Its about 8 years old and we do use it about 4 times a week depends on how much mess the kids make during the week. So hubby went and bought a new washing machine at home depot today. Came out to be $500 bucks and won't be here until Thursday which isn't that bad because they didn't have any instock. We have to do a mail in rebate which can be a pain in the butt. I rather have an in store rebate rather then mailing off a rebate and having to wait 6-8 weeks for it to come in. What ever happen to instore sales?

i think you must get your money back, why wait for them if there is another store to buy new one. sometimes they forgot to follow up the stocks. you must follow up your item.

They are going to call me today and set up a time to come tomorrow to drop it off. I wonder if they will also hook it up or will we have to do it ourselves. I'm sure that would cost extra and it shouldn't be too hard to hook it up.

i think you see the hooking up of your old washing machine before you return it then you do it yourself. in philippines everything here we do it our self or they hook it with out payment. i dont think in your country they will accept without payment!

I hate rebates! They are like one more thing to lure you in, and then screw you when you aren't looking. I don't know how many times I've gotten mine back, and they say, sorry, you were one day late for the deadline. Uh yeah, right. Why can't they just offer that price period? No rebate, just work it in the price. More people would frequent these stores I think.

I agree. I was able to at least do one of the rebates on the computer which wasn't too bad and then they also gave me a user name and password to enter for a 5k gift card that I won't win because I don't have that kind of luck but we will see. The rebate online said 6-8 weeks. I know I will stay on their butts and keep bugging them if it doesn't come in around 7 weeks. Thanks for commenting

Thanks for the best response. I'm sure it will all be worth it when you get that check in the mail. : )

Well I work in a call center that deals strictly with rebates, so I hear all about how much of a pain they can really be! Just make sure you send everything in on time because often if you miss a postmark date or don't purchase between a certain timeframe, you could be out of luck. I do hope you recieve your rebate and do agree that in store rebates would be much less of a headache!
