When my baby first started sleeping through the night I kept waking up, I never got to deep sleep. I'm only just getting used to it - and now - at nine months - his fifth tooth is coming in... lol. I'm still napping with him at times. What's your experience with getting quality sleep?

Its not only thge mothers that go thru this, caring fathers do the same i sometimes get awake and check things out if the criying seems too much. but now i put my son to bed myself and i just take a look maybe once at night to see whats up. Nice experience to see them grow up so quickly.

That''s so sweet, davido. My husband cares too, but once he's asleep he stays asleep or he falls asleep at the wheel on the way to work...and falls asleep at work - his system can't take it! He works till late into the night anyway.

zorrogirl you are so right, love makes up for it. Everytime I find myself wishing for more sleep, or to be to powder my nose on my owm, take a long bath, I superstitiously counter that thought with - but I wouldn't trade having him for that!

may I ask how old your baby was when he started to sleep through the night? My 2 other children have always given me lots of trouble sleeping. Now my 3rd child is 2 months, I hope he will sleep through soon

Nine months and its on and off. He stayed awake just about all night with colic for many months then on and off through his five teeth. Good luck!

I'm right there with you. Some nights I still don't get a deep sleep. My 9 month old has been sleeping thru the night since 6 months. Its hard to get back into a routine of sleeping through the night when your used to getting up. Not to mention, I'm not a deep sleeper anyways.

My baby was awake with colic until about four months I think, then I got a break, then he got started in on his first two teeth - then it was on and off for a while! I used to be a deep sleeper! Thanks Laaurla! (Your avatar looks like a tub - a bath is something I would love to have the time for now - but my husband works nights and sleeps days! I'm going to go to your profile to check out the picture - it looks cute.

My one year old started sleeping though the night when he was 3 mos old. I was SO happy! I was finally getting 7-8 hours of rest. But lately I've been waking up 3 am, and he wakes up at 7, so it sucks that I can't stop waking up every night. And now we have a new baby due around Cnhristmas, so I'm going to have to start all over again!
