From the court of public opinion, we often discuss what our views and goals are. With the election of a new President near. What is it that you would like to see the next President of our country achieve? My own goals would be bring the troops home? An inquiry into why we went to war in Iraq? A change of venue on all foreigh polices? A change of venue in our judical process? Employment increase and also of wages? Health Care, everyone should be able to attend a physicians office without going broke? That is to name a few items on my own agenda?

I am not USA citizen but I am a fan of Hillary. She visited our country, our country's people admire most Mrs. Hillary. She is an Ambassador of our "Grameen Check" popularised by Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Mohammad Younus. In my profile I added Mrs. Hillary under my interest list. So I hope not depending on gender, most women will vote for Hillary judging her capability and compatibility with other candidates and I will be glad if she could win in Election.

I think that Hillary is a good strong candidate to win the election. The election is very close, so time will tell. It may be an election that the undecided is the factor on who wins.

I would like to see the following: For the federal government to ced more power back to the states. Leave the minimum wage alone, leave THAT to the states too, most are already on their way to 7.50 an hour, how much does one expect to make washing dishes? I hope the next one in has a set of balls. I dont want to have a leader that cowers when our enemies raise a fist or when congress or the U.N. starts whining. Generals fight wars, not congressmen. Healthcare, sticky one, I DO NOT want to see it in the hands of the federal government. they screw up enough, I dont want my health in their hands. I DO want to see more states allow you to purchase health insurance out of state, increasing competition, lowering prices. In addition, give tax bonuses to companies who offer low cost health insurance to ALL employees including part time. I want the TSA disolved. Turn security over to the airlines, allow pilots and flight attendents to be armed and trained with at least a taser. I want SIMPLER immigration laws. Change it to this; You must show you have the ability to work by a simple aptitude test. A background check to make sure you are law abiding and a health screening. If you clear all that, your in. Give everyone here ilegaly 1 year to com,e forward and take the needed screening, after that, anyone caught here ilegaly is deported. THEN BUILD THAT DAMMN FENCE AND ARM IT. Place national guards on it with full authority to intercept and if nessesary, shoot. Eliminate gas taxes and fund research that will develope ways to convert older cars to hybrids, see if its possible, that way thees cars are more in the reach of the guys like me who cant afford a new hybrid car. Line item veto, hound and haunt congress mercilesly on this one.

I like your thoughts on doing away with the need for gas to run a car. I think that if it could be achived, then it would not only be better for the consumer, but it would be better for the enviroment. BTW, There as a man in South America that proved that cars could be run on water alone! Somehow, the oil mogals kept that quiet. I just remember a friend of mine telling me about this. I have also heard other theoris that water can run cars. I do not know what they did to the car to make it run on water, but it can be done.

Great topic! And a difficult one. Lets see, first off I guess would be Iraq. We need to end this joke of a war, and bring our troops home. I don't think even Bush has a clear idea or reason for WHY we are still there. And I also don't really think we are accomplishing anything, nor will we accomplish anything. They have been fighting for years and will continue to do so whether we are there or not. And yes, I also think that it needs to be made clear to the American public just exactly WHY we went into Iraq to start with, and what we were trying to accomplish. I really don't think anyone knows the truth about this; and I am no longer certain that this war can even be justified. I would also like to see some major changes in our education system. My husband and I live in a small town, and our school district has had the lowest grades in the state for several years now. The no child left behind act was a good idea, but needs some major revisions. The TASK test, for instance. If you don't pass it in 3rd grade, you are held back and not promoted to the 4th grade - even if you make the A or A / B honor roll for the year grade wise. This can cause the children to quit trying all together. Something has to be done to improve education! Our economy needs a major boost as well, though to a certain extent I guess this is tied in with the situation in Iraq. The ever rising cost of fuel is to blame for part of this as well. The more fuel goes up, the more it costs to deliver goods to the stores, so the more it costs for us to buy them. I can vouch for this as my husband and I own our own truck and drive cross country for a living. While fuel goes up, the freight rates have not - but they have put in place a fuel surcharge that is designed to help truckers with the rising cost of fuel. This raises the cost of goods sold retail. If they could limit what can be charged for gasoline and diesel, this would help. Along the same lines, minimum wage needs to be raised enough that someone who earns only minimum wage can afford a decient life. The cost of living is getting so high now days, that the average person cannot afford to simply make the current minimum wage. This needs to be revised. Health care is another important issue. Insurance is so very high now days, that if you can afford it you simply don't need it - at least if you are considered self-employed. Since we own our own truck and are leased to a company, we are. We have not had health insurance of any kind in several years. A doctor's visit is something we only do if it is extremely serious. This is not a good thing. While I don't think socialized health care would work, there has to be a better way. I would also like to see our next president focus more on the problems here in the United States, rather than worrying so much about other countries problems. This would help improve our country - at least I think so. Immigration and border security would also be an important issue to me. I don't like the fact that they are fixing to give Mexican trucks a free ticket to drive our roads and deliver freight all over the United States. They do not have the same safety regulations and requirements for their equipment in Mexico that we do, and I doubt seriously that any of their trucks would pass an inspection in the United States. This will cause our roads to be even more dangerous than they already are. I also don't think that we should forget that our nation's borders are vulnerable already and can easily be broached by terrorrists. If it showed us anything 9-11 should have taught us that much. I am not against people immigrating to the US, but I do believe that they should do so legally and be required to pay the same taxes that American born citizens do. This is a touchy issue, but it really needs to be addressed. These are some of the most important issues to me, personally, that need to be addressed. We definitely need some major changes in Washington. Hopefully our next president will be able to improve at least some of them.

Your response is well thought out and I am in full agreement with you. Take care of the problems at home first before going into other countries. Health Care is a clear focus. Why should anyone go broke because they need to see a Doctor. America has the money to support Health Care and it is about high time that the taxpaying dollars are spent wisely! Excellent response
