How old were you? Were you ready? Would you change it if you could?? I was 19 when I had my 1st baby. I wasn't ready, but I made myself be ready. I had to grow up really fast. I would have waited if I could have, but now that he's here I wouldn't change it for anything.

Hi jz! Welcome to mylot!! I'm glad that you have fallen in love with your child. Having children at a young age is difficult (My sister was 18 when she had her first one.) I was married at 27, and then hubby and I had our first child when I was 28. Even being that old, I still had to grow up a bit. I had to learn where priorities had to be (diapers and baby food rather than clothes and paries.) I learned, it wasn't that hard, and I had help, which makes a BIG difference too! Wishing you the best.

i am already 24 when i got my baby. I am married and for almost 5 years now. Yes, we(i and my hubby)were ready to have a baby. In fact where already wishing to have one. That is why We've been working so hard to have a baby of our own. coz at that time we already want to have an addition to our family. We want to have an angel to brighten our days and that might have made us complete. And we were not wrong. Our precious gem has indeed make us complete! In everything we do we dont have regrets so i guess going back again and change everything will be the last thing to do.

I was 21 when we had our first child. we were only married for 6 months when i got pregnant so we were exactly ready for it. it caused some strain on our relationship. So i kind of wished we could have held off a little longer, but we've been married 6 years now and have 3 beautiful kids, so i wouldn't change it either :)

I was 18 when I got pregnant and turned 19 before I had him. I cried and cried, but like you said after he was born, I wouldn't change anything. He is now 11, will be 12 in November! I've also had another child (girl,5) since then. 2 is enough for me though!

I guess to have a child nowadays should have some preparation for both parents, morally, financially and emotionally because rearing and bringing up a child is not easy. No wonder there are so many street children in some countries because of unwanted pregnancies and couples who have children at young ages. I was more than 26 yrs old when I got married to my hubby who's more than 27 years old then. We both have jobs that time so we're both prepared when our first son was born. He's now 19 years old and is in 4th year college.

I was 20 when I had my first child. I think for me personally it was too young but then again I will only be 43 when my youngest goes to college.

And it happened, I became a mother at the age of 25. *smile* Thanks for sharing..take care. I'll see yah around. ciao! txel

i haven't had a child. I don't plan on having one until I'm at least 26 thought. Don't ask me why, that age just feels right to me. But everyone is different.

I got married at 28 and had my first child at 32. He is now 19 and just left home. I don't know if you can ever be "ready" for the experience of having a child, supporting them physically and emotionally, then letting them go to pursue their dreams. But, if you have done "your job" they will find their way in the world.

I was 22 years old when I had my first child...a beautiful baby boy named Jeffrey. Then...about 5 months later I found out that I was pregnant again. So now that I'm 23, I have a handsome son, and a beautiful daughter named Jena. I'm so lucky to have 2 amazing children.

I don't have a baby yet but it's an interesting topic to talk about. Now a days many women have thier baby at a very early age but if you ask them if they would like to change what happened to thier life. They would say no. I'm just curious what it's like to have a baby at an early age? are you happy? How so you do it? Raising a child is very difficult isn't it?

I was almost 22 years old (my birthday was just days away LOL) when I had my first child. I was pretty much ready to have a baby. My husband and I were together for 4 1/2 years by then so we felt pretty secure in our relationship.

I had just turned 17 when I had my only child, my daughter. I was not ready but like you, I made myself be ready and yes, I did grow up really fast. I did move in with my daughter's father but that was doomed and we parted ways when my daughter was a bit over a year old. I was scared out of my mind but I believe that having my daughter was the thing that saved my life. My home life was so bad that I was considering ways of not being here anymore. Once my daughter was born, I felt that I needed to be alive so that she was not left to the care of my parents or my ex-husband. I do not consider any of them fit guardians for a child, not any child. My precious daughter is an adult now [29] and has three darling sons of her own and I am glad that things worked out the way that they did and I would not change anything whatsoever.

I was 34 years old when my son was born and I felt very prepared. that was ten years ago and now I just feel old. I feel like I'm at the age that I have to work very hard to stay healthy. There have been times when people told me what a nice "grandson" I have.

I don't regret having my son but I wish I finished going to school(college)and was married but I grow up and he help me to grow up and be the person I am today. I'm married now but I'm also was blessed for the expeience and something to guide me in the right direction and appreciated life more. I was young but with my son I probably won't of made it.

I was 24. Ready in my mind, wanting kids desperately. But wasn't financially ready. I've learned a lot since then & am more careful of whom I trust. But I love my child & will do anything for him. Hope to have more kids someday.

I was 28 and my wife was 30, and I think we're never ready until we experience it. It was really hard at first, but as the child gets bigger, we get used to it.

I was 19 when I found out I was pregnant and 20 when I had my son. I was definately ready to have a child. I couldn't imagine my life without my children they mean everything to me. If I had waited I would have probably gotten pregnant under better circumstances(my own fault) but hey I love my boy and will never regret my dision to keep him.

I was 21 when I had my first. She was a wonderful surprise. In some ways I was ready...in other ways I wasn't. I grew up the first week of her life very quickly as she had some problems when she was born. But it was something I definitely needed to do at the time..grow up I mean. =)
