Watching movies at the cinema or watching movies at home via DVD or VCD?

With the many innovations on technologies we have these days, it is possible that the used to be romantic date on movies would be replaced by the sleek and beautiful flat screen television and the portable DVD at home. Which do you prefer though? Do you think that cinema will be replaced by watching movies at home in the future?

Watching movies at cinema is always better than DVD at home. The big screen, the dolby digital sounds are just unbeatable. Watching movies at home are becoming very common now a days but watching at the cinema will never die. They are the most enjoyable way of watching a movie.

I think in the near future yes! Because as time goes by flat screen, DVD's and other technologies become cheaper and affordable. Like in europe and other countries technologies there are affordable and most people have it already. Maybe cinemas in the future will be use for premiere nights only.

I am not sure that the big screne theatres are going to replaced by a television screne. I did go to the movies the other day with my mom. I now remember why I do not like going to movie theatres. I went to see Stardust. It was a nice movie. The theatre was just about empty however, some guy had to sit right behing me. He could not keep his feet still and hit my seat several times. How can you enjoy a movie with someone hitting your seat? Then the sound was so loud that it actually hurt my ears. I am not saying it was a slight earatent it down righ caused me pain. I do not know why the sound has to make the room shake. My mother is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids in both ears. Even she had to turn her hearing aids off. I like to get movies on dvd and sit in the privacy of my own home. I do not have to worry about someone kicking my seat. I do not have to worry about the sound being too loud. I don't have to worry about missing the movie because I have to go to the bathroom, or get more soda.

yah correct uve just specified the reason as to why people ought to watch at home than in movies. but still, there are those who prefer quality though like the surround sound and the big screen especially to those people who don't own those high end technologies at home.. and the desire to watch the show immediately rather than wait for weeks or days before DVD copies are available. but that's just about it. there is always the comfort at home, less distraction. hehehe

I usually watch movies in a DVD .But one has to have a home theater to experience a real movie experience. But going to a movie theater and watching movie in a giant screen is much more worth it if the movie is a good one.

I prefer watching movies at home on DVDs but sometimes I like a change, going over to the cinema isn't that bad after all.It looks better on a large screen like that.I think cinemas would probably be replaced.

i did notice a little though coz cinemas in my place aren't that crowded. except maybe if the movie shown is box office hit like spiderman, lord of the rings, harry potter...but on other shows, its really not crowded even on openings.

I don't think cinema will be replaced by watching movies at home in the future.TV or DVD can not reach that kind of quality. But for me,so many movies i'd like to watch. I can't afford so much time and money. Thus I always watch them on my computer.

yes it is true though that movies is costly. plus, its also a hassle to go with the crowds and the dealing with some of those unpleasant viewers that would distract us. however, the only time i can go to movies is when watching those MUST WATCH shows where it is shown first in the movies and DVD copies would just come out a week after or days after it is shown.

The movie theatre will never be replaced by the flat screen TV and DVD because of the above reasons. My husband and son prefer to go to the movie theatre to watch good quality shows like The Bourne Ultimatum and Spiderman. I don't go to the movie theatre because of the risk of respiratory infections and also I find the air-conditioning there too cold for me. I have no choice but to wait till the good movies are released on DVD.

Deliberately will prefer going to the cinema and watching a movie because you could exact feel of the movie with the huge screen and also a good sound system. And also when you see the movie on big screen you can easily concentrate on the small details that the director wanted to incorporate in his movies which is not always possible on a small television set. And also if the movie has good photography then you can only enjoy it on the big screen and not in a small television box.

Nothing could be compared with Cinema Hall. But as the ticket prices are so high nowadays, I usually see movies in my computer. However, I don't think that cinema would be replaced by movies at home in the near future, cause the cinema experiance (with it's big screen, dolby sound, AC hall) is simnply great.

DVD would be my choice. The atmosphere at home is more happier to me that a lot of talking and distractions anywhere else
