So it sounds like you feel the area where you live is pretty safe. That is a good thing. I like the little guy with the toothbrush. Are you a dentist?

Yes, I understand what you are saying. There isn't a place that is totally secure.

For sure. Have a blessed day, and we will just have to hope for the best and pray.

Well, parts of it, anyway. Where I lived there was very safe too, but I have been to areas that made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

I guess about 8 for my area. But then again, I seldom venture out in the night by myself, but I say overall the security is alright.. although there are terrifying crimes as well.

I also don't venture too much in the evenings. Crime rates seem to go up when it is dark outside.

The reason I do Not Feel So Safe - World Trade center Bombings
I live in the USA and I do not feel very safe (4) for the whole country. However, the area of the US I live in I feel very safe (9). I live in a small rural southern town of the USA and the crime rate is low, but if I lived in a bigger city of the US I would not feel safe at all! If we can be bombed once we can be bombed again. Man alone can not stop a group who intends on hurting a nation. The world as a whole is not safe today!

You are right. Rural areas tend to be safer because of lower crime rates and also the fact that they usually are not international targets of terrorism.

Really! One hundred percent safe; you are so confident. I once worked with a man, a manager at my place of employment, that was from Nigeria. He was a very nice gentleman.

I feel like a 9 because the murder rate is like 30 people a year and that is at its worst.

Are you saying that is not very many or it is a lot. That seems like a lot of murders to meand I would think you really have to watch your back. It it for robbery or other things?

Although the US is at risk of terrorist attacks, I'd have to give the area I live in a 9. No terrorists are going to attack podunk Iowa because there's nothing here. The only real threat we ever get is an occasional false tornado alarm.

That is the way I felt when I was in the U.S. I lived out in the country from Fayetteville, Arkansas and there was just nothing major there to be concerned about. I felt fairly safe here in Nicaragua until they had their presidential election a week ago today. They elected Ortega after having a civil war when he was in power before. The day after he was elected some people began illegally moving onto other people's property and trying to take it over because he not only allowed that before he participated in it by giving other people's property to people he owed favors to or "just because he could". He says he will not do that this time. So now my rating of being safe here has gone down to about a 5. I have had people ask me if I wasn't afraid that his people would kill me since he doesn't particulartly like Americans. So far, I don't think that is going to happen. He says that he has changed. I believe that God will keep me safe. I have too much to lose to just pull up stakes and leave so I am going to stay.

very safe. India keeps facing threqats from neighbouring countries but we do not worry we have our soldiers vigilant and brave enough to fight even in extreme conditions. And bombs and nuclear threats do not scare us-we live life god has given us and whenever our time finishes we all have to leave. I remeber a conversation from a film scene where a person suffering from leukemia asks doctor what is his age doctor says 30 he then tells the doctor" I am sorry Doctor You will die in another say 70 years". what do you say to that?

Yes, I feel it is better to live your life and not worry all the time. I agree that when it is my time to die then I will, but if it is not my time then I will live a little longer.

I live in the United States, and with Bush as President, I feel like a 10. After the September 11 attacks, he has upped homeland security and made sure war stays across the world and doesn't come into our country. I believe he's done a great job keeping us safe, and feel safe because of it

If security can keep you safe then the U.S. should be fairly safe because there is lots of security.
