There is always a bad one in the punch, that goes true with everything. I feel if you come to a discussion you should be nice about it, If you don't like discussion move on. What do you think, what do you do,I just want to know what you guys think?

Well, I figure if someone is starting a discussion, then it really is open for debate. I think it's important to be a realist and have an opportunity to hear all sides. A person recently replied to one of my discussions in a negative fashion, and although I was a bit surprised, I welcomed the different view and was able to look at it from a whole new paradigm. If you are posting in an open forum, then be prepared for opposite views... and be grateful for them. That's my take on the whole thing.

Maybe you are right, but some people can be so rude, I say if you can't say anything nice don't say anything, we are all suppose to be nice here, It is in the policy. go to my discussion about Look my friends, and go on the second page, you will see what I am talking about, then come back and reply.

I think that any good discussion invites viewpoints from both sides. However, people should not be rude when presenting their viewpoint. There is never anyplace for being rude.

My mamma always said "if you don't have something nice to say don't say it". We can disagree with someone and also give our opinion about something without be nasty. I try to ignore those kinds of people, sometimes I can't though. I can still give them my opinion and not be nasty about it. I guess we both told so and so didn't we.

Well I think it depends on the subject of the discussion and the manner in which it is started. For example, if someone starts an emotive discussion on a topic such as abortion or religion for example, and actually asks for alternative opinions, then it is fine to put your opinion forward even it is different to the thread starter. That is how good discussions come about, I think, providing people are always polite and repsect others' views. However, just to go into a topic (in praise of dogs for example, or perhaps a certain rock band or movie star), and just say something like "I don't like dogs" (or whoever the band or person is), which I have seen happen before plenty of times, seems ludicrous to me! I remember starting a topic about one of my cats once - definately a "cat person" discussion for other cat lovers like myself - and someome just came in and posted "I hate cats" and disappeared again! Like - what the hell? If you hate them, why post in a topic for cat lovers? Seems daft to me - and just a way to make money by posting without any thought or effort. There is also a poster here on myLot - I won't mention any names, - but he/she seems to answer every single post with some diatribe about how much they love God! Now - OK - I am sure they do love God and good luck to them - but what on earth is the relevance of answering a topic about horse riding or swimming lessons for example, with a comment like "God is good and I love him!" with no further explanation. Crazy in my opinion!

good post !You are absolutely right.I adopt this way while responding or commenting here in mylot.I dont want to tussle with anyone here. If i open a discussion for replying i share my views in a polite way and never go about rude or negative markings to any discussions still now. some users comment in a rude way to some of my discussion..but i just skip it and never mark negative nor a rude comment. If i like to share my view i open the discussion and proceed otherwise skip..thats it..

well... I'm glad that I gave my contribution on generating a new discussion... In my opinion there aren't bad replies, there are just misunderstood things and other stuff... sure, people are different... hence they have different opinions and that don't makes them rude...;) (this is my last post at one of your discussions, I won't bother you again, with the condition of not mention my name) all the best...
