Acquistion of langauage is essential for the growing child and even for the growing adults to understand others and to be understood by others. Langauge refers to various forms of communication, including sign's facical gestures and art, as well as spoken and written. Speech is only one form of languauage in which symbols are articulate sounds or words. Though language and speech are clsoely interrelated tehy should not be considered the same.
