I only heard of Akira Yamaoka after I heard his excellent compositions for the Silent Hill series. The music he makes fits into the mood of whatever mood is being displayed onscreen. Love, panic, chaos, suspense, etc. My favourites from his vast array of singles would be Room of Angel, Your Rain, You're Not here, and Promise (Reprise). Anyone who reads this discussion should go and at least listen to one or more of his songs.
