My grandbaby Kala is always having accidents. Which usually results in scars. She must take after me. Anyway I read about a product called "Mederma". So I bought some for her. I know it will not make the scars go away completley. I know you have to use it awhile to see results. It is supposed to soften them. I wonder because this stuff is like $13.00 a 0.70 oz tube. Has anyone ever used this product? Have you had good results with it. If it really works I would gladly pay the money for it. or does anyone have a better suggestion? I don't want her to always have to explain all her childhood antics to everyone she meets in life.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer about the medicine, but I was a dare devil myself in my youth,I am so happy that back then, you did not have to worry about a child coming in with scrapes and bruises, you knew they were from playing rough and not abuse. I just hope this medicine is not used to cover up abuse. I also do wish it works for you and those that do need it for the right reasons. I think everyone thought I was from outer space, but none had ever seen a black and blue alien before.lol

No the medicine is not to cover up abuse. Basically when she gets a cut or what not, she doesn't know enough to leave it alone. so that it can heal. She has to keep picking at it. which in return results in a scar. The fact that she is malotto makes it more noticeable.

I apologize for the wording of my responce Irish,I do understand what you mean for the use of this med. My responce was making the differance ofapearance between many years ago,and what people might use it for today. I do have a problem many times of articulating my wording. Again, please forgive me.

Hello =) When I was younger I was kicked in the face by a horse and left with a nasty scar on my right cheek. Back then Mederma was "prescription" and really expensive. I used it everyday (along with pure vitamin E) and it really did soften and make my scar less noticeable. It is a great product.

Oh I'm sorry you were kicked in the face by a horse. I can imagine how you felt. My grandson was bit in the face by a dog when he was 2 years old. As he got older it did fade, but not completly. He has freckles so that helps. I will also try the vitimin E as well. Thanks for the info!

YUp I raised 4 boys and the third one was a dare-devil if I ever saw one. He fell through the barnfloor into the stable below about 3 times. I remember carrying his limp little body into the house more than once. He just didn't care! Once he found the cellar door ajar and rode his tricycle down the cellar steps, His mom got to carry him back up this time. (it was her turn anyway) and the list goes on and on..... Anyway we all lived thru it and got to be better people because of it.
