A filipino friend of mine was just telling me the other day how in his country, sometimes they keep the bodies of the most respected people in the family in a casket in the house. The casket is left open and clear glass is put over the body. He said that this is a way of keeping their memory alive. I do not want anything like that. Just give me the traditional six feet under.

i think i prefer to be cremated. looking at the situation of our public cemetery now, it seems i wont have a space in it! LOL and we couldnt affort private cemetery. so i would want to be cremated and spare my loved ones of the hassle in going to the cemetery just to visit me. ^__^;; i know what a hassle it is when going there, hot weather in the morning, rain on the afternoon, rain more in the evening, lots of people, narrow spaces to walk through.. almost nothing to walk through actually! ^.^ so i'd prefer to be cremated, maybe even scatter my ashes in the sea or in a lake. ^__^

did you know there are people that get cremated and then buried too?? sometimes it's a space issue in the cemetery, or due to finance issues, but it can be both! also, most burials aren't really 6 ft under in some states, like texas for example, you only have to be 18 inches if in a sealed container and 24 if it is unsealed from the top of the container to the to surface of the ground. just a little bit to think about there!

Definitely cremated. I can't see taking up all that space for a casket and all that and the thought of being under all that dirt bothers me. So definitely cremation and after that I don't care what they do to me.

Having lost two children in a fire, I have no desire to be cremated. I want to be buried in the ground.

I don't want to be buried. I want to be cremated and have my ashes spread on the ocean. My dream is to have a house right on the ocean and be able to walk on the beach every morning. Since that is unlikely to happen, having my ashes spread in the ocean seems to be the next best thing.

I am at a toss up really..Since I lost my baby 3 months ago she is burried in my husbands family plot well actually his moms...His dad is right next to her with His older brother above him...I think that I would like to be barried in the same cemetary as her so I can be near her or be cremated and spread on top of my babies grave I'm not really sure as I would like to be side by side with my husband for whoever goes first as long as we can all be as close together as we possibly can.
