Parents, school started. When do you know whether you will need a tutor or not?

Will you need a tutor? - When do you start looking for a tutor?

Are you thinking about hiring a tutor this year? If so, how long does it take you to figure it out? Do you start looking from the beginning of the year, or do you wait until your child brings back home a bad grade? Also, where would you look for a tutor?

Hi, I hope it might be lack of time and the lack of absorption. Anyhow a tutor who is kept should also be well in his part too. The heavy dose of studies might also harm the student. Hence keeping a tutor is to be checked before an student consultant whose guidance would be more better. If it necessary I hope a tutor is must. If not it is better for student.

Hi, no we are no thinking of hiring tutors nor do i believe very much in students taking tutions, as i think they tend to become too dependant on tutors and are not able to do things themselves. Of course there are exceptions when the child is weak in studies or when you feel that he really does need it. I believe that we should le the children do things themselves and we should be aroud to guide and help them a little whenever reqired. I dont think sending them to tutors on a daily basis is a good idea, even if they actually do not require to go to them, just to ward them off us and to make sure that their homework is done in time etc. Incase i have to hire a tutor, which i would take as a last resort to do, i would wait for the school authorities to tell me that my child requires additional help, that is if i have not myself been able to help them. I would get to know very soon if my childs not performing well in class, as i keep a daily check on their studies, and would look around for a tutor around the school itself.

I don't know when i'd do it, the first few years probably aren't necessary to have a tutor unless you notice something seriously wrong. It also depends on their age & whether or not they're actually applying themselves or just messing around. I don't think i'd hire a tutor just for the sake of having one, i also wouldn't jump on it over just 1 grade - it would depend on the subject for me. If there were more than 1 bad grade in something like Maths, then i would consider it but if the bad grade was just for Drama or music, then i'd be less likely to get a tutor. I'd hold off though, pushing too hard & making them do extra work after school hours could also cause your child to hate learning & kids really do need time to play & just be kids - school is important but you don't want to be nagging or pushing too much.
