I was in a store the other day,I had a few extra bucks and my daughter wanted a toy,at first my husband said ok we will get you something small, but then I thought of the recent recall and told him I too scared to buy her a toy. It's sad and scary to know a toy could harm my child. What are your thought? How has the recall affected your spending habbits?

When i heard about this toy recall, i was actually shocked because these companies where already around for a long time and it disgust me because a lot of mother trust them to product quality and safe toys... i just hope that next time they put their products out in the market, they should test them first....

So true,we shouldn't have to worry about what brand we buy for safety,I am mad and I do hope something is done to protect our families.

absolutly in fact my son would not be geting any new toys for a while now. My god if its going to happen to such a big company than we are never safe. God knows what our kids have been exposed to and we have no idea about it.

It does make you stop and think before buying anything. Just as I was typing this, ToysRus is recalling a coloring set that contains too much lead. Can you believe that! It was also made in China. It seems China is the biggest culprit. It looks like they could do more.

I saw that recall as weel, did you see how they are recalling candy from China because of worms and magots being in them? We need to stop having China import things here,America needs to make our own toys and stuff so we can better test the stuff.

I've been lucky so far. My daughter is 15 months old and so far has only had one toy recalled. Oddly enough, it was one that was given to her. Recalls do worry me, especially in brands that have pretty much set the standard for toy safety. I just try to keep as safe as I can. Whenever I'm considering buying a toy, I look it over to see if I can spot any potential problems. Once a week, I go to http://www.cpsc.gov/ and make sure none of my daughter's toys have been recalled.
